Be sure to use proper citation conventions: you will have to go to the endnotes of the article to find the sources for your citations. This is a formal paper, please adjust your writing style accordingly. Part 1: Institutions tend to resist change. What strategies did jazz educators use to establish jazz programs at the college level in the 1940’s-60’s? Use at least two specific examples from the article. In the next part of the assignment you will be discussing statements/opinions by experts in the jazz pedagogy field other than the author. In other words, you will be talking about the people he quotes in the article. Part 2: Find one quotation that you strongly agree with, and one that you disagree with. After writing out and properly citing each quotation, explain why you chose the quotation and give your opinion of the ideas expressed. How does each quotation shed light on the topic of jazz education?
