This is the top level of the ProTeXt distribution, an enhanced TeXdistribution for Windows, based on MiKTeX.

ProTeXt is distributed along with TeX Live and CTAN on aDVD as the "TeX Collection", and also by itself on a CD.

For the TeX Collection, TeX Live is included in the subdirectory

texlive/, and the CTAN snapshot in the subdirectory ctan/. Soif you want to use these other distributions, first change to theappropriate directory.

The three distributions are entirely independent, each with itsown instructions and documentation.
