STATUS OVERVIEW OF FLASHFLOOD IN MAGUINDANAOThe “typhoon Ofel, Pepito and Quinta” had brought continuous
heavy rains that resulted to flash flood in the seventeen (17) municipalitiesof Maguindanao province. Most of the affected residents were trapped withtheir places of origins while only few were forced to leave their houses andseek refuge to the residence of their relatives in the nearby barangays.
The flood affected municipalities are those with geographicallocations are nearby river, ponds and marsh. Damage of properties andcrops are the usual effect of the flash flood that hampered the livelihoodactivities of the flood affected families.
As of October 26, 2020, there are 61,286 flood affected familiesand 306,430 individuals in 148 barangays of 17 municipalities.

❑ Displacement in Mohammad Ajul Municipality due to armed conflict/family
feud.

❑ 207 families that were protractedly displaced from Tipo-Tipo Municipality has

Threats from both warring parties continue to create fears. There is likelihood that the families of the victims and the perpetrator might cross paths because they are neighbours and reside in the same town.
The Barangay LGU has sought the
assistance of the security forces such
as AFP and PNP and the BIAF.
Establishment of military
detachment/post in Sitio Fuente,
Brgy. Tuburan Proper, Hadji
Mohammad Ajul Municipality to
pacify the tension between the
feuding families.
There were fears and apprehension from the civilians on potential escalation, if tension is not defused.
Community leaders will propose to the MLGU to request for the establishment of AFP detachment in the area where the ambushed incident has occurred.

• Returning IDPs were provided with assistance consists of food packs from LGU and hygiene kits from UNHCR.

• On 19 October 2020, 46 Samah-Bajau families (85 individuals) weredisplaced in Sitio Tong Kallang, Barangay Sanga-Sanga in BongaoMunicipality due to storm surge brought by Tropical Storm Pepito.
• 46 houses were totally damaged; IDPs are temporarily settled at the Yusop Daiz Elementary School.
• Identified needs includes food and non-food items such as tarpaulins,kitchen sets, clothing and hygiene kits
