A full refund if you change your mind within 45 daysIf you’re not entirely happy with your Replacement Care, you are entitled to a full refund if you change your mind within 45 days and haven’t used the service. If you wish to cancel the Insurance Policy during this 45 day cancellation period then return to the store with your Insurance Policy document and receipt to receive your refund. Terms and ConditionsDefined termsThe terms below have the following meanings when used in the terms and conditions.Insurance Policy means this general insurance contract;Product means the product purchased from Argos and covered under the Insurance Policy;We, us, our means Domestic & General Insurance PLC;You, your means the customer who has taken out the Insurance Policy and who owns the product.Insurance providerThe Insurance Policy is underwritten by Domestic & General Insurance PLC.EligibilityThis Insurance Policy is only available to residents of the Republic of Ireland who are 18 years old or over.Significant features and benefitsThis Insurance Policy is a general insurance contract that provides cover for one product purchased from Argos with a value of less than €200 in respect of the cost of:Breakdown - The provision of a replacement of the product following mechanical or electrical breakdown (after the manufacturer’s guarantee has expired).Accidental Damage - The provision of a replacement of the product following accidental damage.Statement of priceYour Insurance Policy fee will include all costs of purchase such as premiums and premium taxes (including stamp duty and government levy at the applicable rates). The price for your Insurance Policy is determined by the type of product you have bought, the length of its manufacturer’s guarantee and the price of the product as shown on your till receipt, as explained in this leaflet.Duration of the Insurance PolicyThe Insurance Policy will start on the start date shown on your till receipt (this will be the date you purchase your product) and it will continue for a period of three years (as indicated on your till receipt).What we will payWe will always, subject to the full terms, conditions and exclusions of your Insurance Policy, replace your product with a product of the same or similar make and specification, unless we cannot reasonably arrange a replacement, in which case we will provide you with Argos vouchers to the value of the price you paid for your product. All vouchers will be redeemable from Argos and will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue If vouchers are not available we may provide a cash equivalent.You must return to the Argos store to receive your replacement product. We will not arrange or pay for the product to be delivered. When we have replaced your product, your Insurance Policy will end immediately. We will not be responsible for any costs that you may incur in disposing of your original product.How to claimPlease return to the Argos store with your product, and the receipts for both your policy and your product to claim for a replacement. For products that contain fuel (e.g. lawnmowers), please ensure that all fuel is removed from your product before bringing it into store.What is not provideda. Any claim where the costs are covered elsewhere by any manufacturer’s, supplier’s or repairer’s guarantee or warranty.b. The product (or any part) being recalled or replaced by the supplier or the manufacturer.c. The cost of modifying the product.d. Claims arising from your failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.e. Claims arising from using your product in a non-domestic or commercial environment, unless we agree to the use in

writing beforehand.f. Any loss, damage or impairment to functionality caused by: theft, attempted theft, neglect, deliberate damage,

animals, plants or trees.g. Any loss, damage or impairment to functionality caused by: earthquake, flood, lightning, fire, wind, humidity, weather

conditions, salt spray, storm or other natural events or catastrophes, abnormally high or low temperatures, water ingress, corrosion, chemical exposure, radiation, explosion, sabotage, terrorism, insurrection, revolution, war, riot, armed conflict, civil commotion, rebellion, man-made events or catastrophes, or technological hazards (such as computer viruses or date-change faults).

h. Claims arising from any problem with the supply of electricity, gas or water.i. Repairs, routine maintenance, cleaning and servicing.j. Costs arising from not being able to use your product or from loss or damage caused when the product breaks

down, including any costs to remove or reinstate built-in or fitted product. that does not affect how the product works.

k. Cosmetic damage such as damage to paintwork or dents or scratches to the product.l. The cost of replacing any item or accessory that is intended to be replaceable. These include: fuses, bags, brushes,

belts, batteries, blades, oil, petrol, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and related starters, filters, attachments, cables, plugs, light covers or rain covers.

m. Installation charges where your product is replaced and any costs you may incur to dispose of your original product.n. Any cost arising from the change from analogue to digital broadcasting including the termination of analogue

transmission of any type.o. Damage or failure of the product due to: a software virus; the configuration of user settings; the process of backing

up or recovery of data; loss, corruption or damage to data or operating system.p. Accessories not included in the packaging with the product.q. Any claim relating to a product not purchased from Argos.Protection is also not provided for the following:Audio visual equipment: • Tuning. • Styli or cartridges.• In-car equipment: • Removing or re-installing the equipment.Televisions• Costs due to unusual physical or electrical stress, burned screen or software interface problems.• Claims arising due to a failure to install the display in line with the manufacturer’s instructions.• Repairs due to pixel failure where the number or location is not in excess of the manufacturer’s acceptable limit.• Wall mounted units if not fitted as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.• Damage during delivery by a third party who is not our agent.• The loss of or damage to glasses used to view 3D TV.

Remember, you’ve only got 45 days to protect your product with Argos Replacement Care Accidents can happen at any time. If you protect your product in store today you’ll have reassurance that you’ll get a replacement or vouchers if it gets damaged by accident or breaks down.

However, if you’d like to have a think about it first, you have 45 days from the date you bought your product to get covered. Simply pop back in store with your original purchase receipt and this leaflet where a member of staff will help you. Your Replacement Care commences on the date the policy is purchased. Please refer to your receipt for confirmation of price and duration.

Please note, your product must be in good working order when you buy Argos Replacement Care.

Why not include Replacement Care as part of your present to them. That way you’ll have peace of mind it’s looked after.

REPLACEMENT CARE

HOW TO REQUEST A REPLACEMENTIf your product is accidentally damaged or breaks down outside of the manufacturer’s guarantee, take it in to any Argos store with the items below:

• Your broken or damaged product - you will need to hand this back in store

• Your receipt for the product itself

• Your receipt for Argos Replacement Care

Fitness equipment: • The loss of safety keys.Cancellation period – Right to change your mind1. You can cancel your Insurance Policy at any time within 45 days of purchase, and you will receive a full refund,

provided you have not used any services under the Insurance Policy.2. If you wish to cancel the Insurance Policy during this 45 day cancellation period then return to the store with your

Insurance Policy document and receipt to receive your refund.Cancellation and ending of your Insurance Policy1. After the 45 day cancellation period you may bring your Insurance Policy to an end at any time, and you will be

refunded a proportion of your Insurance Policy fee relating to the remaining full months outstanding, unless your product has already been replaced or written-off.

2. If you have been provided with a replacement product or a write-off settlement by us then your Insurance Policy will come to an end and no Insurance Policy fees already paid will be refunded.

3. If you wish to cancel your Insurance Policy after the 45 day cancellation period, you can: click on ‘contact us’ at www.domestiandgeneral.com; or write to Domestic & General Insurance PLC, Leicester House, 17 Leicester Street, Bedworth, Warwickshire CV12 8JP, United Kingdom. You may need to send in your Insurance Policy document and receipt.

4. Your Insurance Policy may be brought to an end at any time in the event of any fraud, attempted fraud, or where you have provided incorrect information, and you will not be entitled to any refunds.
