ABOUT SAINT CLARET HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL
Saint Claret Higher Secondary School (SCHSS), was established in 2005 by the
Claretian Fathers with an aim of providing holistic and quality education to the students of
the area. The Claretian Congregation is an international society of Priest, Brothers and
Sisters working in 64 countries. Claretian Fathers are rendering their services in various
parts of India too.
In its foundation, Saint Claret School is influenced by the educational vision of
St. Anthony Mary Claret, a Catholic Saint of the 19th Century Spain and Founder of the
Congregation of the Claretian Missionary Fathers, who tried all possible means to impart
positive values to the lives of people to effect holistic transformation.
St. Anthony Mary Claret was born in Catalonia, the northeastern corner of Spain,
in a town called Sallent on December 23, 1807. He was the fifth son of Juan Claret and
Josefa Clará's eleven children. He was ordained a priest at 27 years of age and was
assigned to his hometown parish. Claret began preaching popular missions all over.
He traveled on foot, attracting large crowds with his sermons.
The secret of his missionary success was LOVE.
His popularity spread; people sought him for spiritual and physical healing. On July
16, 1849, he gathered a group of priests who shared his dream. This is the beginning of
the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, today also known as Claretian
Fathers and Brothers. He was concerned for all aspects of human development and
applied his great creativity to improve the conditions of the people under his pastoral care.
Among his great initiatives were: trade or vocational schools for disadvantaged
children and credit unions for the use of the poor. He wrote books about rural spirituality
and agricultural methods, which he himself tested first. He visited jails and hospitals,
defended the oppressed and denounced racism. Claret died on October 24, 1870 at the
age of 62. As his last request, he dictated to his missionaries the words that are to appear
on his tombstone: "I have loved justice and hated iniquity; therefore I die in exile." His
remains are venerated in Vic. Claret was beatified in 1934 and in 1950 canonized by Pope
Pius XII.
The VISION of SCHSS is to promote educational excellence, leadership and service
based on universal love and brotherhood in an environment characterized by respect for

experience of every right thinking person that we must get up early in the morning. No
second thought about it.
13.2. SLEEPING EARLY
Many students want to study up to late hours in the night. These are the students who don't
follow their daily routine strictly. It is not the number of hours but the quality of study that
matters. Every student requires 6 to 7 hours of sleep daily. This must be obtained between

illness. The daily exercise is must for everyone. If one wishes to be healthy, mentally as

Often, when a student is caught on the wrong foot he/she makes excuses and tells lies.
When the students do so, the school ultimately comes to know about it. It is better to
confess the guilt and mend one's ways rather than to continue making excuses or telling
lies. School tries to educate the students through different programs.
13.7. TV/GAMES/SPORTS/ENTERTAINMENT/HOBBY
In the hostel TV will be allowed to be used only as a source of education and not as a tool
for wasting time. Students/residents are advised to select games/sports for themselves
and use the same for introducing breaks in the daily routine and use them as a source of
entertainment. Every student must select game/sports/hobby and follow it up very faithfully.
