Welcome

At Kingsley Community Primary & Nursery school, we pride ourselves on the wide range of experiences that we offer our children.

Our mission is to give your child the opportunity to learn and develop in a happy supportive environment, preparing him/her for life.

We are proud of our reputation for being a caring and friendly school with a high academic record of achievement. We do our best to ensure that your child’s time with us is a happy one; where his or her individuality is nurtured so that he or she can flourish and achieve their full potential.

Our spacious school is set in fabulous large grounds. The school grounds have been adapted to provide valuable resource areas in which the children can learn and play. These include a woodland area, garden, pond, adventure trail, chicken enclosure with a large field and tennis courts for our many sporting activities.

CURRICULUM

During their time at Kingsley, your child will have the opportunity to:

1. Learn to play a musical instrument

2. Participate in a range of residential visits (Y3-6)

3. Take part in a range of sporting competitions

4. Join different clubs

5. Represent their school

6. Learn a foreign language (French)

7. Perform in a play each Christmas

8. Learn to ride their bike safely on the road

9. Learn to swim

10.Use technology such as computers and iPads to support their learning

After-school Clubs (free):Junior Choir, Infant Choir, ‘Allsorts’ club, Games club, Tag rugby, Knitting, Sewing, Outdoor games club, Music club, Young authors, Brass band, Times table club.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

1. Support your child with their homework

2. Attend the many performances in school (and help to make the costumes!)

3. Come to parents evenings and the workshops that we offer

4. Get involved with our PTA and help with social and fund-raising activities

5. Come along to our Toddler group

6. Attend our family events such as family camp and bring a parent to school afternoon.

7. Share your expertise or interests with a relevant class

8. Give an hour of your time on a regular basis to help out in school

9. Become a parent governor

10.Support your child’s learning through our online facilities
