714-P03 TEMPORARY CATTLE PASS EXTENSIONS AND PLUGS: There is a 4’x6’ cattle pass located at Sta 14344+13 that will need to be extended permanently and temporarily. Temporary extension is needed for the duration of temporary roadway widening required to maintain two-way traffic through the reconstruction area. In order to maintain flow during the traffic shift, place a 24" PVC pipe through the cattle pass to the edges of the temporary roadway embankment."

Place the 24” PVC pipe in the flow line at the bottom of the existing cattle pass. Design and construct a temporary plug for the area between the outside of the 24” PVC pipe and the inside of the existing cattle pass at both ends. The area must stay plugged the entire time that the temporary embankment is in place. Both plugs must be strong enough to hold up under the traffic. If the plugged area fails while the temporary embankment is still in use, repair the failed area at the Contractor’s expense. Include the cost to build, install, and remove temporary plug in the unit price bid for “Cattle Pass Conc Intermediate Section.”

714-P04 PIPE EXTENSIONS: Remove the silted-in material from the pipes before extending them.

Include the cost of removing the silt in the price bid for “Common Excavation-Type A”. Assume all pipes require silt cleanout.

714-P05 STRUCTUAL PLATE PIPE ARCH: The allowable minimum wall thickness for the structural
