1. DWG E6.02 – How many student work stations are there, how many teacher work stations are there. What room numbers are involved? 6 teacher work stations (teacher demonstration tables). Rooms 214, 213, 211,209,207,205. Refer to electrical drawings for number of student workstations. Assume each floor receptacle or above counter (AC) receptacle shown on the power plans in these 6 rooms to be a student workstation. Refer to plumbing drawings (base bid and alternate) for location of gas and water supply.

2. DWG E6.01- Notes mention fire rated ceiling assemblies, which would require fire barriers over

fixtures. Please identify what areas of this facility have fire rated ceilings. No fire rated ceiling in the facility. Fire barriers over fixtures not required.

3. DWG E5.02- New panel L2B shows 2 pole 20 amp cbs for cord reels. Should this be 1 pole breakers for

120 volt application? Provide 1 pole breaker for each cord reel circuit.

4. DWG E5.01- Note 2 says refer to riser diagram and there is a note 2 on panel S. Panel S1 is existing to remain and will have new work inside it. Are we still only raising transformer TS1 in the room or moving all components? Transformer TS1 to raise up to two feet from existing height as mentioned on E1.03.

5. Panels LL and (2) section L2B are new. Specs call out for non linear loads to have 173% neutrals. Panel

schedules show 100% neutrals, yet PNL L2B indicates the new transformer to be K13 rated. Please clarify. Provide 173% - 200% neutral for all new panels. Also specs indicate minimum 14 KAIC rating on branch ckt panelboards, and panel schedule has 10 K for new panel LL. Is 10 KAIC correct for this panel? Use 14KAIC minimum for panel LL per specs. Panel L2B is mentioned as 14KAIC already.

6. DWG E4.01- key notes 5,6,and 7 are missing from the drawings. Note 5. Replace (1) 2X4 prismatic lens in

this room with new type ‘B’ fixture. Note 6. Replace (2) 2X4 prismatic lens in this room with new type ‘B’ fixture. Note 7. Provide control switch in this area. New switch shall control lighting fixtures on its respective space as shown.

7. DWG- E2.01- Will all 60 plus existing brass floor plates be replaced with like floor box plates with flip up

covers? Replace existing brass floor plates to match existing with flip up covers.

8. DWG E1.04- During the walkthrough, it was discussed to route charging station circuits in CMU wall. This is not possible due to quantity of circuits. Dwg notes indicate wiremold under shelf. Is wiremold 4000 acceptable? All ckts will be 10 ga. Use wiremold 4000 series. Increase wiremold drop from the ceiling to accommodate the charging station circuits.

9. DWG E1.02- Ceiling area of theater appears to be plaster with no access above. Access panels will be

required to be cut into ceiling to route wiring. Will type MC fished above ceiling be acceptable? We will have access panel next to the projector per my phone conversation with the architect. Refer to architect for more information. The added receptacles as shown on theater walls call for wiremold 4000 (from high ceiling). Will it be acceptable to run one run of wiremold up to ceiling and bore through brick to install surface mount receptacle on opposite wall? Provide one wiremold up to ceiling inside theater and bore through brick on opposite wall to install the surface mount receptacle.

10. DWG E1.01- Note 5 calls for use of an existing circuit and addition of 3 additional circuits for flex lab and

computer lab- There are (10) locations for note 5. There are roughly (58) receptacles. If following note 5 as shown on each receptacle group, there would be (30) new circuits added. The circuit numbers are not shown on this dwg and can’t be readily identified on the panel schedule. Please clarify how many circuits you intend for these two rooms. There are existing circuits in this area to be re-used. Contractor to re-use existing circuits and add new as required to accomplish the circuit distribution shown.

11. DWG DE1.01 Indicates “RR” on many receptacles. Many of these appear to be fed from under

slab. Removal / relocation will require reconnection from above. Many are in CMU walls where block may have to be cut from ceiling to device. Can MC cable be used where possible to refeed these if we are able to fish down in block voids, as this can be labor intensive and in many cases may require new circuits from panels as well? MC cable is not acceptable for base bid.

ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATIONS

1. There is a specification section for MC cable. Realizing you require a separate neutral for each phase and limiting 6 conductors per raceway, we request use of type MC for fishing down existing walls where outlets will be added, otherwise GC will have to cut and patch sheetrock in the existing walls. Will MC be acceptable for fishing new circuits in existing walls? MC cable is not acceptable for base bid.

2. Specifications call for independent test lab for testing conductors larger than #2. We have (2) new panel

boards and feeders. Will independent Certified Test Lab be required to Meg Test these feeders? Yes

3. Grounding specifications call for copper ground buss at all IDF MDF rooms, telephone rooms etc. This is only for new installation, correct? There are other grounding items such as water / gas piping etc. Are we only dealing with newly installed panelboards for this section? Yes we are only dealing with panel boards and transformer.

4. You also have provisions for written ground test reports and certification of ground system. Please clarify

to what extent this will apply and will you want independent test lab reports for anything on this project, pertaining to electric work? We will only do the megger report for new panels and transformer. We will not do the testing of the grounding system. There is also provisions for testing Theater isolation system, all sub panels, audio system, etc. Will we be required to test any existing systems? No because they are all existing.

5. Specifications for Lutron lighting control calls for training and on site factory certified rep to set up and

test. Will this be required for this facility where we are installing lighting controls like occupancy sensors and switches to existing rooms? This will apply to alternate bid only.

6. Specifications are calling for short circuit coordination study and arc fault study. Will this study be

required for the installation of ONLY new equipment (2 panelboards) provided by us? YES

7. Specifications detail SPD’s for panelboards, with 10 yr warranty etc. You do not show these on the (2) new panelboards on one-line or schedule. Will these be required for either of these new panelboards? Panel LL is fed from panel L with existing SPD. Provide SPD for panel L2B as mentioned on the plan.

8. What testing / training will be required for the Electrical Installation on this project? Megger testing for new

feeders.

9. You are requesting alternate (dwg notes) to add Lutron Lighting Control, per spec, throughout the facility. Are all areas of this facility shown on the plans you have provided? We did not provide the plans for upgrading the lighting control for the entire facility. Contractor to field verify and price it for alternate.
