THE BENEFITS OF USING AUTOGAS

Propane Diesel InjectionAn introduction overview of the Powershot Propane Diesel Injection system (PDI) for use in medium and heavy duty vehicles

Thank you for the opportunity to speak with you regarding the Powershot PDI system and the benefits it can offer to your transportation fleet.1

Fumigation with alternative fuels such as LPG/Propane and CNG, provide all of the benefits of a full conversion, at a fraction of the cost and without the full commitment.2

THE BENEFITS OF USING AUTOGASFumigation with alternative fuels, reduce emissions and lower fuel costs,. Maintenance costs can also be reduced with the addition of a cleaner burning, domestically produced fuel.3Powershot Propane Diesel Injection provides:The Powershot PDI system, offers significant and proven cost per mile reductions, reduced emissions, and enhanced engine performance.

4Why choose a Powershot PDI??The system is easily retrofitted with no modifications to the existing diesel fuel injection system or other factory components and can be installed on diesel engines of varying sizes and configurations5

US PATENT 6422015The Powershot PDI system is produced solely in the US. All of its US made components meet or exceed all existing NFPA 58 , Intertek and UL standards for quality and safety, in LPG engine fuel systems. Tanks are constructed to ASME and DOT standards and regulations and are provided from the two major US tank manufacturers.6Propane Diesel Injection SystemHow it works.

The Powershot PDI uses a patented technology that mixes a small amount of gas (vapor propane) with the intake air of a turbo charged diesel engine, prior to the introduction of that air into the engine.

The lean propane /air mixture is then introduced into each cylinder during the intake stroke. 7

Propane Diesel Injection SystemDuring the compression stroke of the piston, the temperature of the air is increased. Diesel fuel from the engines existing diesel fuel injection system is injected into the cylinder. The diesel fuel, ignites and in turn ignites the propane, thus burning the propane completely and consuming most of the diesel fuel along with it.

8Propane Diesel Injection SystemHow is it implemented?

A propane motor fuel tank is attached to the vehicle with the PDI system. All tanks are manufactured to ASME and DOT standards.

The system is very simple to install.most installations can be completed in about 4 hours.9Only two lines are routed to the engine compartment; one to provide boost pressure to the PDI system. The other hose provides for the delivery of propane vapor to the air intake just before the turbo charger.

Additional views of customer tank installs Long haul trucks would want a minimum capacity of at least 25 -30 gallons. Propane is consumed at a rate of 30-60 mpg on larger displacement vehicles. 14Propane Diesel Injection SystemWhy it is so beneficial

The small amount of propane increases the combustion efficiency of the diesel burn producing more mpg and less emissions and enhanced performance.

Using a controlled ,metered amount of propane, the amount of diesel fuel utilized by the engine is reduced, displaced with the lower priced alternative fuel , thus reducing your cost per mile, even with two fuels.15Propane Diesel Injection SystemWhat are the costs & ROI?

The entire system (tank, brackets, PDI unit, and connection lines and fittings) cost averages $1600-$2000 installed.

ROI is realized very quickly depending on annual mileage.

Fuel cost savings vary depending on type of vehicle and application.

In most cases total fuel cost per mile reductions range from 4 to 12 cents per mile resulting in total fuel cost savings of 5 to 15%.Price varies based on the tank chosen, however most com plete systems are under $2000 installed. Some vehicles will see as much as 20 to 25% savings, however, we prefer to understate the results, so when they are exceeded, it is a pleasant surprise.16

Here are some examples of achievable cost per mile reductions17

In use since the fall of 2000, we have many satisfied customers all over the world. The only diesel fumigation system to be granted emissions certifications in through government agencies in Australia, New Zealand, and now in the EU (Poland). Here are some photos of our customers..Southern Concrete, Duke Energy, The City of Greenville, County Beverage and Fed Ex Critical.19Our customers include:

Westfield School District, Westfield, WIScott Petersen, Transportation Director for Westfield Public Schools, reports a 2.0 mpg increase in fuel economy on this 2002 International DT 466 as well as a 25% increase in performance. A unique application, this bus runs on B100 Bio Diesel, made, under supervision, by the students from waste vegetable oil.

Approved for use in these school districts, the Powershot system met and exceeded all existing standards and safety requirements for vehicle modifications used in student transport. This district saved over .05 per mile over straight diesel.22

John Bedway, Transportation director, purchased the system for additional power and also received cost per mile reductions of .04 per mile.Mr. Bedway jokes that before the installation, he thought of having the kids get out and push the bus to get it moving.24

Some additional headlines we have received25In the News.

The success of the system for our customers has not gone unnoticed and it has been featured in many national publications and newspaper articles, such as Engine Professional, and Business Fleet, among others. When customers are pleased with a purchase, they like to talk about it! This is an extremely special point of pride for our company.26

One of our most frequently asked questions is will the system affect my engine warranty? Most OEM engine warranty programs do not prohibit the use of aftermarket parts or technologies. In brief, the policy of OEM's is that they neither recommend nor endorse aftermarket technologies; however, the use of these products does not automatically void the validity of the engine warranty. If the cause is unrelated to the systems operation, the OEM's have historically honored the warranty and repaired the engine. Additionally, any components of the system that fail within the warranty period will be covered under the warranty policy.

27Fueling Infrastructure

The trucks are going to need to be fueled. Many companies have existing propane fueling on site. For convenience and lowest fuel costs, the best option is to have on site filling capabilities provided by a local propane supplier or one of our industry partners. In many instances suppliers can provide the fueling dispensers at little or no charge to the fleets. 28Propane Refueling Stations

The Powershot PDI system is very economical on propane usage. Propane consumption on a large displacement engine ranges from 30-60 miles to a gallon. For example a 30 gallon tank, has a range of 1200-1300 miles on average,. For long haulers, propane is readily available at thousands of locations across the country. In the event, the vehicle runs out of propane, the vehicle seamlessly reverts back to diesel.29Diesel Performance Products
