Glittering Generalities

• Using glowing terms to promote a person.

• NO evidence is offered to support the idea.

Name Calling

• The opposite of Glittering Generalities

• Using word or image association against a person or group.

Loaded Words or Images

• Using emotionally charged language or images to persuade the target.

Card Stacking

• Only the facts that will make the target react are included.

• Any facts that might hurt the argument are ignored
