Based on the Elveden Estate on the Norfolk / Suffolk border, The Garden Of Elveden work with carefully selected UK potato growers and source as much produce as possible from growers within East Anglia. The potatoes are nurtured, harvested, handled & packed with the greatest care.

The Garden of Elveden supply only the best varieties of potatoes to ensure excellent results, the Estate’s development chef cooks and assesses each variety before being used.

The majority of Garden of Elveden salad potatoes are grown on the Elveden Estate. The salad potatoes are harvested early in the morning, graded and packed the same day and delivered to the Pilgrim depot overnight. This short delivery from field to fork ensures the freshest potatoes with excellent flavour. In July the salad potatoes will be Maris Peer variety; round and bright in appearance, they have wonderfully creamy, tasty flesh. A perfect addition to Summer menus.

We are delighted to be sourcing new season salad lettuce, grown in the regions near to Pilgrim Foodservice. The silt rich and fertile land of Lincolnshire, Suffolk and Essex provides the perfect conditions for growing fantastic quality lettuce. Each lettuce is picked by hand before being cooled and delivered to Pilgrim Foodservice.

Produce expert Bryan Blair keeps a close eye on quality ensuring only the best crops are selected. The Piccaver family have been farming locally for generations and conservation is a key part of their business. Environmental initiatives include the planting of hedgerows and creation of dedicated areas to provide homes for wildlife. Reservoirs built on the land together with complex water control systems reduce the wastage of water.
