Hi there! Welcome to your Grow New Promoters Handbook!
Inside you will find different opportunities that can help you grow new Promoters and support you in achieving your goals.
Remember:• The first milestone in Advanced Leadership is to grow to Gold Ambassador,
where Representatives can enjoy a great part-time business with average monthly leadership earnings of $500. This first milestone usually takes about 6 months to solidify stability.
• In order to develop a successful business with Avon, it is important to understand that in the beginning about 90% of Representative’s earnings will come from building a successful customer base. A successful customer base is generally 20 customers who purchase $20 worth of products every two weeks. A strong customer plan of 20 x $20 every 2 weeks will also accelerate a Representative’s pathway to President’s Club and secure their 40% earnings. A strong customer base can be made up of either face-to-face customers or eStore customers.
• Therefore, it’s important to build strong relationships with Representatives in your team to support them in setting and achieving this goal. Don’t forget to present them with the opportunity to earn additional recruiting bonuses they may qualify for as they build a team.
So you see…you are vital in supporting people in your team achieving success!
The possibilities for success in growing new Promoters are endless with your support, training and coaching.
This handbook is intended to support you with different suggestions, activities, and actions you can try to help you grow new Promoters in your business.

Connecting existing and casual conversations to the pathway for possibilities begins when you present people in your team with a simple path.
Switch it up! By simply adjusting your words and how you present the opportunity to build a team, you can open the door to connect with Prospects and existing team members, transmitting ease and confidence in their ability to achieve their goals more quickly.
Ask yourself • How can I present someone with a simple path to start?
• What words can I use to present our opportunity in a simple, fun and “worth it” way?
• What words can I use that are most effective in inviting and encouraging people to consider Avon as their business opportunity?
• How can I effectively help Prospects and people in my team create their simple path to start?
Switch it up and try…INSTEAD OF: You can get a discount.
TRY: How would an additional $300 to $500 in earnings from just sharing what you love make a difference with your family?
INSTEAD OF: Be your own boss.
TRY: We’ll connect you with resources that will support your independence and promote a successful business that you can build into your own schedule.
INSTEAD OF: It’s not hard or time-consuming.
TRY: We’ve created a plan that’s easy to build into your existing schedule. It’s fun to do with a friend. You’ll receive support, guides, and coaching to help build a great earnings plan for just for you.

Present Prospects and team members with the Advanced Leadership opportunity using inviting words that transmit belief in their ability to achieve their goals more quickly.
Adjust your wording to something like:
“With our guidance and support you can generate additional earnings. Let me show you how you can earn an additional $300 to $500 a month.”
“It’s always fun with a friend, how many friends can you introduce me to today?”
(Model a 3-way call)

PUT YOURSELF OUT THERE!Nurture Relationships
Connecting with people in your team, especially those who are new to team-building, enhances your ability to influence success for their possibilities in Avon.
Put yourself out there! Reach out and connect with people in your team individually, offering your support and guidance in creating their personal action plan with their success as the main focus.
Ask yourself • How am I connecting with people in my team on a consistent basis?
• What strengths/tools can I leverage with people in my team to extend a relationship for their success?
• How can I have a teaching and training relationship with people in my team; what activities can I schedule with them and create value in those activities?
• How can I begin building stronger relationships with people in my team to support them in their success?
• When onboarding a new team member, what steps in the process do I need to focus on to ensure their best experience?
Nurture relationships and...CONNECT WITH TEAM MEMBERS LOA 0 and conduct a 48-hour follow-up contact and/or 1st order call training. Take this opportunity to offer your support guiding and coaching them to achieving their success as they continue to grow their customers.
OFFER YOUR GUIDANCE AND COACHING TO TEAM MEMBERS LOA 1-10 who have consistently placed orders. Guide them in identifying the first 5 people they would like to help gain additional earnings doing what they’re doing.
USE SOCIAL MEDIA TO COACHING, GUIDE AND SUPPORT. Use social media platforms to express your interest in building stronger coaching relationships with Representatives who want to grow their business.
Take Action!Identify Representatives with whom you will be building stronger coaching relationships and define their personalized action plan.

Reach out to all team members and nurture relationships through guidance and coaching that will take their business to the next level.
Connect with team members LOA 0-10. Connect with 3-4 people in your team per week through teaching and training contacts where you support them to begin building their team by:
• Visiting neighbors and friends who live nearby and extend the invitation to join their team.
• Helping them identify the first 3 or 4 people they would like to invite to start Avon just like they did and introduce you to them.

EMBRACE THE POWER OF RECOGNITIONRecognition Has the Power to Ignite!
Embrace the power of recognition and ignite people in your team to achieve growth in their business and earnings! Congratulate people in your team on their efforts and successes – inspire and motivate them to achieve their goals and surpass them by building a team.
Ask yourself • What can I do to recognize the efforts and/or successes of people in my team?
• How can be I consistent in recognition for people in my team?
• How can I recognize people in my team for who they are and not just a job well done?
• What can I do to harness the power of recognition and through it support people in my team as they achieve their goals?
Embrace the power of recognition and…CONNECT WITH TEAM MEMBERS LOA 1-26 selling $200 or more. Recognize them for their efforts and success on a personal basis. Take this opportunity to support them by guiding and coaching them in growing their earnings by building their own success story and sharing their success story with others.
CONNECT WITH TEAM MEMBERS CONSISTENTLY PLACING ORDERS and recognize them for their efforts and success on a personal basis. Take this opportunity to build a stronger relationship by supporting them in growing their earnings by guiding them to begin their own success story and sharing their success story with others.
BE PROUD OUT LOUD – RECOGNIZE TOP PERFORMERS using any and all means available to you: training sessions, social media platforms, email, etc. Recognize Representatives excelling in sales and leadership. Promote your guidance and coaching to support others in achieving this same recognition.

Recognize people in your team for their efforts and success with their business. Let them know you appreciate what they do.
Connect with people in your team who are selling $200+ every order and congratulate them on their success. Take the opportunity to offer your support to:
• Find more customers near home or near their work place
• Increase their sales by hosting an Avon Party and/or an Avon Fundraiser.
• Grow their business by doing it together with a friend.
• Notice how you’re placing them in the right position to begin building their team.

SHOW THEM YOU CARE!Shift from Your Agenda to Theirs
Shift from your agenda to theirs and show them you care! Show people in your team you are there to support them through guidance and coaching – invest yourself in knowing their agenda and offering your support to make their goals a reality. When you show them you care, it allows them to be open to your guidance and coaching.
Ask yourself • What questions can I ask so people in my team talk/share more when
we connect?
• How can I be completely genuine when connecting with people in my team?
• What can I do to focus on their agenda and not mine?
• How can I listen actively to people in my team and not be thinking about what to say next?
Shift from your agenda to theirs and try…THE 80-20 RULE: 80% of the time your team member should be talking, allowing you to discover more about them. The other 20% should be you asking open-ended questions, reflecting on what they said and answering their questions.
FOCUSING ON THEIR WHY. When connecting with your team members, we often think we understand their why based on our own impressions. Allow them to share their why as they do the talking. When we impose our own thoughts about their why, it’s more likely to deter their interest.
BEING YOU! Don’t try to be someone you are not; be real. Allow room for questions that let you share your strengths and build a genuine relationship with your team member’s success as the foundation.
Take Action!Create your plan to be genuine! Allow yourself to share your strengths through your relationship with your team members and practice identifying others’ why by being an active listener.

Invest yourself in getting to know your team member’s reason for joining Avon. Get to know their reasons and show them you care about them. Show them you will guide and coach them to make their goals a reality.
Connect with Representatives in the Pending Appointment list and conduct Welcome and/or Follow Up calls with a focus on getting to know them and ask questions like:
• How are you feeling with your Avon business.
• What would you like to accomplish with Avon?
• How will you feel once you achieve that?
• When you show them you care; they will listen and be open to your guidance and support.

Building a team begins when prospecting! Adapt to generational traits* and personality styles when prospecting and be prepared to present Prospects with a full business opportunity that appeals to them.
Ask yourself • How can I present Prospects with a full business opportunity
and not wait until later?
• How can I prospect with a purpose to bring leaders into my team and not just sellers?
• What can I do/change to be comfortable presenting a full business opportunity while prospecting?
• How can I be well educated and versed on the latest at Avon and in the direct selling industry?
Adapt to generational traits when prospecting to present a full business opportunity and …PRACTICE IDENTIFYING DIFFERENT GENERATIONS AND PERSONALITY STYLES. Being able to identify different generations and personality styles will help you determine what your approach to each conversation will be.
TAILOR YOUR APPROACH FOR EACH GENERATION AND/OR PERSONALITY STYLE, using inviting words that will present the full business opportunity when prospecting in an easy and fun way.
FINDING COMMON GROUND with people in different generations or with different personalities than your own. This will help them (and you!) feel more comfortable when striking up a conversation.
Take Action!Identify your common ground with each generation and write out YOUR tailored approach. Then practice them and use them!
