Rate shall include marking the areas to be excavated, setting up the reference datum bench mark, establishing interim and final excavation levels with appropriate survey instruments, Carrying out excavation in the specified type of soil, inclusive of de-watering to keep the area clear from water ponding at all times to the required depth and profile . Rate shall include for breaking and removing old foundations with or without reinforcement, underground tanks, floor concrete, sewers, pipelines etc. and carting away the debris. Rate shall be inclusive of shoring, strutting, removal of slurry, dewatering, including stacking of good excavated earth anywhere within site premises and backfilling in layers of 300mm toachieve 95 % proctor density as approved by Engineer in charge, include all otherincidental charges. (Note: Working space and extra space for side slope soil stabilization will not be measured and paid for). Payments will be made only on the volume of earth excavated as per GFC drawings.

Contractor shall use the latest mechanical means of excavation suitable to achieve the required excavation level within the agreed time period. All such equipment mobilized on the site shall be in perfectly working condition, well maintained, ensuring no down time during the entire agreed working period. A list of all such equipment, manpower, machinery and the proposed infrastructure that the contractor is going to mobilize for the work shall be submitted to the Engineer in charge before start of work for his approval.

The final approved founding strata shall be left absolutely clean by removing loose, slushy soil, murrum and weathered rock with necessary tools & tackles, cleaning the surface by wire brush and carting away debris, dewatering to keep site dry at all times etc. all complete to the approval of Engineer in charge.Contractor's rates shall include fees for all statutory sanction and royalties for any kind of disposal.Quoted rate shall include for cost of materials, labour, loading and unloading charges, hire of machinery, tools & plants, shoring, strutting, dewatering, removal of slurry, fuel charges,transportation, scaffolding and all other incidental charges etc., with all leads and lifts, complete and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge at all levels.

If the Excavation for foundation is done to a depth greater than that shown in the drawings or as required by the Engineer -In- Charge, the excess depth shall be made good by the contractor at his own cost with the concrete of the mix used for leveling / bed concrete for foundations.

EXCAVATION FOR TRENCHES/FOUNDATION PITS BY MECHANICAL MEANS

Excavation in all soils by mechanical means (Hydraulic excavator) in foundations, trenches, sumps etc. upto 3m depth including dressing of sides and ramming of bottoms asdirected. Rate shall be inclusive of shoring, strutting, removal of slurry, dewatering, including stacking of good excavated earth and rock anywhere within site premises and backfilling in layers of 300mm to achieve 95 % proctor density as approved by Engineer-in-Charge, including all leads and lifts complete. No side shuttering shall be paid for foundations and trenches, which shall be cast against moist earth.

Quoted rates shall be for all levels, lead and lifts, all locations, all shapes, sizes, thickness, as per drawings, specifications and as directed by Engineer-in-charge.Cement to be used shall be Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) confirming to IS1489.

Concrete to be used shall be design mix concrete (to be approved by Engineer-in-Charge). The designing of concrete mix for all grades shall be done in accordance with IS 456 and SP-23 (Hand book on concrete mix design) and tested in an approved lab.

Quoted rate for all concrete shall include for cost of materials, labour, loading andunloading charges, hire of machinery, tools & plants, shoring, strutting, dewatering,compacting, removal of slurry, fuel charges, transportation, scaffolding and all otherincidental charges etc., with all leads and lifts, complete and as directed by the Engineer-inCharge at all levels.

Rates quoted for all RCC items shall include testing of all materials,placing of concrete, construction joints as required, preparation and roughening of surfaces, vibrating, curing of members, covering with hessian cloth or polythene sheet, provision of cutouts, sleeves and cover blocks. The rate shall also include putting in position insert plates and embedments (the cost of which shall be measured and paid for separately).

Only the laps specifically shown or mentioned on drawings shall be paid for. No payment shall be made for any additional laps provided by the contractor or any other cutting wast.

Chairs and Separators shall be provided as directed by Engineer in Charge and paid for on actual laid quantity.

All scaffolding, propping below formwork and bracing shall be in steel pipes.

The reinforcement weight to be paid shall be calculated from the bar areas based on the nominal diameters and the bar lengths used multiplied by steel density of 7850 kg/cum. No other rolling margin shall be paid for.

Plywood, steel or timber shuttering as specified and approved by the Engineer-in-Charge shall be used with with appropriate framing members, bolts, nuts, MS span, MS Jacks, MS pipes ties, fasteners, necessary supports, bracing etc. complete (Design of formwork,supporting system and staging to be approved by the Engineer-in-Charge prior to commencement of work).

For all formwork above 4 m in height, additional staging shall be provided in multiples of 4 m as required. For the horizontal members such as beams and slabs, the areas with staging over 4 m floor height shall be measured and paid extra. However, for vertical members such as columns and walls, no additional payment shall be made whatever the heights of the members.

Providing and laying in position plain cement concrete grade M10 using OPC with flyash (maximum 50% subject to approval of Engineer-in-Charge) including compaction, curing, finishing etc. The rate shall include top surface of the concrete to be finished smooth wherever required, providing slopes, gradients, preparation of ground surface for laying concrete, trimming, ramming, removal of slurry, cost of materials, labour, loadingand unloading, transportation, scaffolding and all other incidental charges etc., with all leads and lifts and at all levels complete and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge & as per GFC drawings.

Providing & Constructing cement concrete Block Masonry 200mm thick using 400mm x200mm x 200mm blocks. The blocks shall be of first quality and from approved manufacturer, the works include bedding, jointing and pointing in cement mortar CM 1:4, with neat recessed jointing, in all lead, lift and depth including scaffolding, working platform, finishing, cutting, curing and such other works that are required to make it complete at all floors & heights and works shall be as per specification and as directed by the Engineer / EIC.

Random rubble stone masonary in locally available hard stone for foundation & plinth in cement mortar 1:6, including levelling up with cement concrete 1:6:12 at plinth beam level

Providing & applying 12 to 15 mm thick cement plaster to concrete blockwork walls,columns, piers etc. in cement mortar 1 : 4 (1 cement : 4 fine sand) applied, finished smooth and cured including hacking, curing, making grooves / bands wherever required complete. The rate shall includes the cost of scaffolding for all height etc. complete.

Providing & applying 18 to 20mm thick x 150mm wide cement plaster raised band over concrete coping of blockwork walls/columns, in cement mortar 1 : 4 (1 cement : 4 fine sand) finished smooth and cured including providing & fixing by embedding densly spaced broken waste glass pieces into cement plaster band while it is green. Sharp side of glass pieces to stand-out 50 to 60mm above finished band surface. The rate shall includes the cost of formwork and scaffolding for all heights.

Only the laps specifically shown or mentioned on drawings shall be paid for. No payment shall be made for any additional laps provided by the contractor or any other cutting wast.

Chairs and Separators shall be provided as directed by Engineer in Charge and paid for on actual laid quantity.All scaffolding, propping below formwork and bracing shall be in steel pipes.The reinforcement weight to be paid shall be calculated from the bar areas based on the nominal diameters and the bar lengths used multiplied by steel density of 7850 kg/cum. No other rolling margin shall be paid for.

Plywood, steel or timber shuttering as specified and approved by the Engineer-in-Charge shall be used with with appropriate framing members, bolts, nuts, MS span, MS Jacks, MS pipes ties, fasteners, necessary supports, bracing etc. complete (Design of formwork,supporting system and staging to be approved by the Engineer-in-Charge prior to commencement of work).
