    PROJECT DESCRIPTION

    It is a Audio amplifier project. First of all, what is audio amplifier? An audio amplifieris an electronic amplifier that amplifies low power audio signal to a level suitable for

    driving loudspeakers. The input signal of an audio amplifier may only a few mill

    watts, but its output may be tens or even thousands of watts.

    Design parameters

    Gain Frequency response Distortion Noise

    These are interdependent, increasing gain often leads to undesirable increases in

    noise and distortion. While negative feedback actually reduces the gain, it also

    reduces distortion. Since modern digital devices already provide a flat signal at

    line level, the preamplifier is not needed other than as a volume control.

    In this project we are making simple audio amplifier with woofer and tweeter. We

    have two controls of woofer sound intensity and tweeter sound intensity.

    WOOFER:A woofer is a driver that reproduces low frequencies.

    TWEETER: A tweeter is a high frequency driver that reproduce the highest

    frequencies in a speaker system.

    COMPONENT LIST

    Resistors Capacitors TDA 2005s dual audio amplifier IC Loudspeakers

    WORKING

    There are two main part of the circuit.

    (1)Filter

    (2)Amplifier

    There are two filter low pass and high pass. Low pass filter is used for woofer.

    High pass filter is used for tweeter. Woofer mainly used for speech signal and

    tweeter is used for other music frequency. We set the value of resister and capacitor

    so it acts as low or high pass filter.

    Low pass filter:

    R = 1K

    C = 56nF

    fl =

    = 2842.05 Hz

    6

    Generally the speech signal is only in the range 30Hz to 3000Hz. So we

    design low pass filter for that range and that filtered signal is amplified

    and given to the woofer.

    High pass filter:

    R = 1K

    C = 56nF

    fl =

    =2842.05

    Generally the music signal is in the range above 3000Hz. So we design

    high pass filter for that range and that filtered signal is amplified andgiven to the tweeter.

    There are two variable resistor using which we can control the gain of the

    amplifier. So the intensity of the sound varies with change in resistance values.

    In this project we use TDA 2005s IC that is class B dual audio power amplifier withthermal shut down capability. Power booster amplifiers are easily designed using this

    device that provides a high current capability up to 3.5 A. so in our project it will

    amplify our audio signal. That output signal is control by R3 and R5 resistor which

    are variable in nature.c7, c8 and c9 capacitors are used to control noise .Then it

    connected to loudspeaker.

    APPLICATIONS

    In portable home theatre system In car radio application In public address system

    CONCLUSION

    Using TDA 2005s IC we amplify low level audio signals (in mille watts) to high level

    audio signals (in watts).we give two inputs to the audio amplifier of high and low cutoff using high and low pass filter. And we able to make a circuit which can work on

    12 volt d.c supply.
