MILLER-DRISCOLL SCHOOL PROJECT MILLER-DRISCOLL SCHOOL PROJECT

The overall objective of this school renovation project is to extend the useful life of the school building for 25-30 more years and to add dedicated space to serve a growing special needs pre-kindergarten population.

Project ObjectivesMake the necessary repairs to the building (noted below) and provide sufficient, appropriate and dedicated Pre-K space, per state mandate.• Complete infrastructure upgrades to roof, windows, heating,

ventilation, air conditioning, lighting and technology systems; • Meet current code requirements for occupants health, safety and

access;• Improve comfort and security of students and staff;• Improve energy efficiency; • Provide long-term improvements to teaching and learning

environments; and• Improve pedestrian and vehicular safety on the grounds.

Wilton Board of Selectmen adopted a Statement of Purpose and Objectives incorporating the Board of Education’s Statement of Requirements for the educational program.

Wilton Board of Selectmen appointed the Miller-Driscoll Building Committee.

Miller-Driscoll Building Comm. began work to define the project.
