Catalytic Financing for Green Businesses and Early Stage Projects
The Nordic Development Fund (NDF) and the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) offer complementary financing for the implementation of early stage projects and business expansion activities aiming to promote green growth. Our financing programmes have already helped a range of organisations to carry out their projects and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. Turn the page to see whether your organisation is eligible to apply for financing.
We invest in sustainable green growth and climate projects globally. We focus on small and medium-sized projects with demonstration value. Financing for internationalisation is offered through the Nordic Project Fund (Nopef) and NEFCO Global.
We invest in climate change and development projects primarily in low-income countries. Financing for early stage climate change and clean energy projects can be applied through our two chal- lenge funds: EEP Africa and Nordic Climate Facility (NCF).

Swedish Absolicon has received financing together with its two partners WWF Kenya and Tealand Engineering and Construction Limited to pilot the use of solar Parabolic Trough Collectors or ”solar concentrators” in tea factories in Kenya. The use of solar concentrators together with energy effi- ciency measures are expected to lead to reductions of 50–75% in the tea factories’ wood fuel use. The long term goal is to produce the solar collectors regionally in Africa.
