PROJECT FAST FACTS
Project Location: Walker Road, from just west of 173rd Avenue to Schendel Avenue
Project Goals: • Consistent roadway cross-section throughout corridor• Improve safety for all travel modes • Design with future development of the area in mind
Design Highlights: • Five-lane cross-section (two travel lanes in each direction with a center turn lane)• Continuous bike and pedestrian facilities (both sides)• Improved road geometry and sight distance• Design speed: 45 mph (posted speed limit on this road will not change)• Existing traffic volumes: West of 158th = 19,000
Project Funding/Budget: • Funded through the County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (http://mstip.org)• Project budget for Phase 1 is $5.5 million for engineering design, right-of-way acquisition, and
construction
Project Schedule: • Final roadway design: through Winter 2015• Right-of-Way acquisition: through Winter 2015• Construction: Spring 2016 through Fall 2016
