PROJECT DESCRIPTION

MAIN OBJECTIVE: to make a specified study on the La Riereta urban catchment using SWMM 5 as modeling tool.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In order to complete this project, there will be different teams.

Specified objectives

to build a numerical model of La Riereta (common task for all teams)

to perform an analysis of La Riereta model considering a specified design storm (specific task for every team)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

COMMON TASK: to build a numerical model of La Riereta urban catchment

Discretization on several subcatchment

Determination of initial values for hydrologic and hydraulics parameter (subcatchment width, surface roughness, conduits roughness and so on)

Calibration and validation process

Modeling and analysis of your model under a T=10 years design storm

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SPECIFIC TASKS: once the model has been done, each team must perform a specific task

Sewer network rehabilitation proposal modifying the network (change on sewer cross sections, sewer bottom slopes, etc) but plan layout can not be changed

Sewer network rehabilitation proposal using detention tanks

Application of SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) in order to decrease surface imperviousness index

Network analysis under a long-continue simulation

Sewer network security levels to avoid flooding and surcharge flow

Sewer network analysis only under Dry Weather Flows
