Project Description

LIC-US 40-0.15/VAR PID – 96320

The proposed project is the rehabilitation of four box culverts including headwalls (SLM 0.15, 2.65, 6.80,

and 7.54), and one pre-cast pipe arch (SLM 5.79) on U.S 40 in Licking County. The project also includes

work on a bridge location in Fairfield County on IR-70 (SLM 0.84) to replace the beam seats on the west

rear abutments of the structure. The scope of work on the culverts includes patching wingwalls and

headwalls, joint repair inside the culverts using Shockcrete, and installing rock channel protection at two

locations to prevent further bank erosion and protect the integrity of the roadway. The work on the IR-

70 bridge includes removing the damaged concrete on the beam seats and pouring new concrete at the

exposed beam site. This bridge work will occur adjacent to the Blacklick Creek Metropark Trail; however,

all work will be conducted via the highway median, no construction activities will occur on the trail, and

the trail will remain open at all times. All work for this project will be within the right-of-way and traffic

will be maintained throughout the project.
