    The main ocus or us to decide the state o business was to *eep the tar&etaudience in mind and the scope o ser%in& the customers. ttara3han is a state

    which has hi&h potential and has emer&in& tar&et audience but is still underser%ed.

    As per the 0ensus !11 sur%ey) the population in ttara*hand was 1)!1)1)25 and

    the re&istered newspapers and periodicals included 33 dailies as on ,arch 31)

    !141. we compare the stats o ttara*hand and ttar Pradesh) we fnd that about

    22)24 people are ser%ed by a sin&le daily in ttar Pradesh as compared to -ust

    3!)42 per daily in ttara*hand. This shows that the ttara*hand mar*et is

    underser%ed and has a scope or business or us. Addin& to this analysis) the hi&h

    literacy rate o 2.3 ma*es it a &ood place to start our newspaper business.
