Concept

Inspiration

Using Macromedia Dreamweaver and any tools you

prefer to use for image creation (Photoshop,

Illustrator, ImageReady, Fireworks, Digital camera,

scanner, etc.), create a fully functioning Web site on

the artist or artwork of your choice.

Your content should include information about

something or someone that has inspired you,

presented in a compelling way so as to communicate

to others what you like about it. Your site can feature

a visual artist, performer, curator, film, exhibition, etc.

You are free to choose from any influential artist or

artwork, but be sure that your research will provide

both imagery and explanatory text that you can use

in your site.

Zelda is a video game series from Nintendo, centering

around the story of the hero, Link, and his quest to

save the princess, Zelda.

Every major game in the series has been a hallmark

of the gaming industry and has a tremendous

following.

The games have occasionally been represented in a

traditional storybook style, which suited the game

perfectly.

Almost every installment utilizes a different graphical

style, however the elements remain constant; Link

and his green “hero’s suit”, Ganon the monsterous

villain, and the triforce, Link’s source of energy.

To create an engaging storybook-style website that

will tell the story of Hyrule, Link, and Zelda using

standard HTML and CSS.

The design will be essentially a single-page with

emulated pages; using script to simulate navigating

to the different links.

This direction employs the use of a hand-drawn sketch

feeling, with soft pastel colors, leaving the focus on the

content.

Triforce

Link has almost no spoken dialogue in the game series outside the CD-i series of games from The Legend of Zelda. Facial expression has only been visible since the series appeared on the Nintendo 64. Miyamoto has said in interviews that his conceptualization of The Legend of Zelda, and of Link, was based on his childhood memories of books, movies, stories and personal experiences. He tried to make people identify with Link and have the opportunity to be heroes like the character. Although at the end of some games Link becomes vastly talented in physical and magical arts, he usually starts off the game as a regular boy.

Inspired by the graphics in early Nintendo games, this

second concept will resemble the original Zelda games

rather than the subject matter of the games.

TriforceThe Triforce (トライフォース, Toraifōsu?) is a triangular sacred relic that represents the essences of the Golden Goddesses. It is made up of three smaller triangles known as the Triforce of Wisdom, Triforce of Power and Triforce of Courage. Each of these embody the essence of their respective goddess, and bestow certain boons on their bearers. In most of its appearances, the Triforce or its pieces manifest as a crest on the hands of their bearers. These crests resonate when near each other, and the Triforce pieces can emerge from their bearers.

Content

LinkAll creatures big and small owe their lives to this legendary adventurer. Link's list of accomplishments sprawls longer than we could even begin to list here, but he is most well known for his vital role in keeping Ganon, The King of Evil, safely locked away in the Dark World.

Some of Link's most famous accom-plishments include rescuing Princess Zelda on multiple occasions, saving the citizens of Termina from certain demise, as well as freeing the island of Koholint from savage monster attacks.

Humble to the end, Link is known not merely as a hero but as a symbol of courage, strength and wisdom as well. Tales of his bravery will never cease, and his legend will never ever die.
