The Eye of the Needle: a prophetic parable for TODAY. In 3 of the 4 Gospels we find that Jesus was speaking a parable to a group of people about a rich young ruler and to illustrate the point of the parable and bring understanding to the hearers, He used the expression: It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

…PROGRESSIVE

It is a challenge to us in this hour...

Steps of advancement (our walk

with Yeshua) As we continue our walk of faith, the LORD is spurring us on to deeper things. We can ask ourselves if we are progressing in the things of God and if not…What is hindering us. We all struggle in our progression at times and may need to let go, repent, forsake or give up things that are holding us back. The prophetic parable “The Eye of the Needle” by Charlotte Baker: https://worshipwarriors.net/docs/eye_of_the_needle.pdf is progressive in nature and will surely encourage us as we seek Adonai.

SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

"And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:24

"For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Luke 18:25

Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!" And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, "Who then can be saved?" But Jesus looked at them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible." Mark 10:23-27

The BIG question for some is…What was the Eye of the Needle? We’ve heard that it is:

1. a tiny hole in a threading needle used for stitching or sewing and a camel 2. a narrow mountain pass, which would be extremely difficult for a camel to

go through [in the East a camel was actually referring to an Elephant] 3. a very small door in an ancient city gate in which a camel would need to

shed all gear as well as be depleted of his water supply [deflating the hump(s)] to squeeze through the door

4. a translation error of the Aramaic, the Aramaic word gamla means camel or the word can mean rope depending on the context

In looking at these various definitions we find a commonality in them. They are nearly impossible to accomplish without divine intervention. And so, if we take the scripture and see it as a sewing needle and apply the action of someone trying to thread a rope through it, we see the impossibility in it. As Christ followers we can enter (tap into) the unlimited realm of the Spirit, the realm of the miraculous, it says in: Mark 10:27 “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible!"
