Founded in 1980 by Mr Bosco Ho, hpa, officially known as Ho & Partners

Architects Engineers & Development Consultants Limited, is one of Hong

Kong’s major architectural practices and a strategic partner of HKTDC’s

Belt and Road-related initiatives. Since 1992, hpa has been listed on the

“Band 1” List of Architectural Consultants kept by the Hong Kong SAR

Government. hpa was listed No. 47 in the “Top 200 Architectural Practices –

Annual List 2004” by World Architecture Magazine. In 2008, 2012, 2017 and

2019, hpa was ranked one of the “Top 10” local architectural practices in

the BCI Asia Top 10 Awards. Within this fruitful year, hpa won the prestigious

Quality Award for Medium and Established Enterprises 2019 led by the Hong

Kong Management Association (HKMA) and also the SME Award under the

DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Awards 2019.

hpa has its architectural design footprint in more than 60 cities across 12

countries, including Hong Kong, India, Mainland China, Macau, Middle

East, South Korea and the United Kingdom. Its completed projects include

large-scale planning projects, high-end residential developments, public

housing, Grade-A office buildings, corporate headquarters, 5-star hotels,

shopping malls, hospitals, universities, cultural buildings, industrial undertak-

ings and TOD/MTR related mixed-use developments.

The practice currently employs over 260 staff comprising experienced

architects and interior designers; planners and urban designers; building

surveyors and quantity surveyors; designers and technicians. With its vast

resources, hpa is well placed to undertake projects of any scale and

complexity.

Introduction

Apart from offering architectural, planning and interior design consultancy

services, hpa has a sizable Maintenance, Alteration & Addition (MAA)

Department for building renovation, specialised A&A works, condition

survey and similar services. The MAA Department is comprised of

architects, building surveyors and quantity surveyors, clerks-of-works and

other supporting technical personnel.

hpa fully exploits information and computer technology to eliminate

distance and time barriers and ensure that its staff can communicate

tightly without any prominent boundary. Back in the early 1980s, hpa was

a pioneer in the use of Computer-aided Design and Drafting (CADD). After

40 years in the industry, hpa continues to adopt and merge cutting-edge

technology to the fields of design and construction supervision. For the last

few years, hpa has been one of the pioneers in BIM-Revit design and has

designed the first MIC (Modular Integrated Construction) high rise building

in Hong Kong.

To ensure that its project designs, particularly those large-scale and

complex developments, can attain the greatest development value,

hpa developed its own DOS (Development Option Studies) software

model through its in-house IT team several years ago. Living in today’s era

of “AI” & “Big Data,” hpa is well prepared to embrace the new age of

multi-dimensional database design. It is hpa’s goal to transform its

operations to be fully digitalised for enhancing work quality and efficiency.

先生於1980年創立,是香港一所具規模並提供多元化服務的建築師事務所,更

是香港貿易發展局一帶一路戰略合作夥伴。自1992年起,hpa一直被香港特別行

政區政府建築署納入「一級」建築師顧問名冊。2014年透過CEPA(內地與香港

建立更緊密經貿關係的安排),hpa成為香港“首間”獲國家住房和城鄉建設部

批准的甲級建築工程設計的獨資公司。2004年hpa於英國世界建築導報(World

Architecture)全球首200間大型建築師樓評選排名第47位。於2008年、2012

年、2017年及2019年的 BCI 亞洲本地的十大建築設計公司獎(BCI Asia Top 10

New Manila Bay City of Pearl Manila, Philippines

New Manila Bay - City of Pearl is located at the heart of

Manila, a shining jewel in the ocean. The 407 hectares

city is connected via a main boulevard with a loop

road network, with advanced driverless railway system

circulating throughout the entire district. The inner ring

features the central park and golf course, while the

outer ring looks out onto a breath-taking panoramic

ocean view. Water taxis connect the North and South

Islands to other districts in Manila.

The City of Pearl harmonizes with its surrounding through

the allocation of Community Oriented Facilities and

programmes to instil a sense of place amongst its visitors

and residents. Along the coast and across golf course

Corridor EEC, is strategically positioned within the

ASEAN Economic Community, and closely connected

Starphire HotelTai Kok Tsui, HKSAR

The boutique hotel faces an open single aspect view

of a district park, abutting a highway. To mitigate and

maximize such a condition, majority of the rooms is

facing and located against the boundary of the site to

capture the best views, with noise barriers incorporated

into the vertical elements of the curtain wall, the design

is a simple re-interepretation of form follow function.

As the hotel is adjacent to a highway, the pattern and

placement of such barrier are strategically located

for maximum performance. The facade facilitated by

transformation of geometry to enhance the sense of

place in the district.

星淮酒店香港大角咀

此精品酒店,臨向高速公路及社區公園。大部份的酒店房間

皆朝向這開揚景觀,盡享這地點優勢。為減少道路環境噪音

的影響,會把隔音障溶入玻璃幕牆設計,達致形隨機能的建

築意念。

A HotelMongkok, HKSAR

This development is to convert 3 existing residential

buildings into a 17-storey boutique hotel with a

3-storey podium for retail use. A modern glass facade

is designed to provide greater transparency and to

allow natural sunlight penetrating into the hotel and

retail area. The project consists of 50 guestrooms with a

total GFA of 2,255 sq.m.

項目位於九龍旺角鬧市,由三棟唐樓拆卸重建而成,是一棟

高17層的精品酒店,裙樓部分包括3層商店,並大部分以清

玻璃建造,以增加商鋪的透明度。項目共提供50間酒店套

房,總樓面面積2,255平方米。

Yunda Central Plaza Changsha, China

The project site area is about 96,500m², with a total

construction area of approximately 640,000m²,

consisting of residential and multi-funtion business

district with two high-rise towers . On the east is a

63-storey, 250 meters high building, which is the new

landmark of the Changsha New Wuguang Station

international financial district. The development

combines business hotels, offices and serviced

apartments. There is also an international conference

hall, banquet room, fitness center, swimming pool

and other facilities to cater for the requirements of a

modern lifestyle. The super high-rise platinum 5-star

rated St. Regis Hotel on the east and the other 5-star

rated W Hotel on the west offer not only the classic

grand twin suite, but also the grand executive suite and

presidential suite. The elevation design of the project

is of contemporary expression, with a strong sense of

verticality through the grid of mullions on the façade.

The deep grey-blue glass façade makes a statement

that ensures Yunda Central Plaza to stand out from the

crowd.

本項目分為南北二個地塊,地塊東南角為地鐵長沙大道站。

南地塊為綜合商務區,含二幢超高層塔樓、一幢100m高塔

樓、五層商業裙房。集酒店、辦公、公寓、購物中心於一

體。極大地提升了北地塊住宅區的品質。住宅區含六棟板式

高層住宅,呈周邊式佈置,圍合出300m長的中央大綠洲,東

北角設幼稚園,東南角有一層商業裙房。住宅首層架空,綠

洲滲入建築中。中部5樓的中間二個單元是30層全複式頂級

豪宅,其餘均為31層、層高3.1米豪宅,住宅在長沙領先採用

了八大高科技智慧系統,如:智慧家居系統、戶式中央熱水

系統、地板採暖系統、食物垃圾中央處理系統、指紋密碼鎖

等。住宅區設二層地庫,地下一層與綜合商務區地下一層的

商業街相連並連通地鐵口。建築立面現代簡潔,展示出高尚

住宅區的大家風範。

Fusion City 橫琴•蓮城印Zhuhai, China

The commercial podium contains 5 storeys, with an

internal street connecting the exterior of the shopping

street, through internal linkage and underground

passages to commercial complexes on neighbouring

sites, the design promotes a shared sense of

communal space in the neighbourhood. The

commercial space is dominated by the central atrium

which, together with its vertical-circulation system of

escalators and lifts, allows for maximum frontages for

the shops and forms a circular, three-dimensional,

above-and-below-ground shopping unit that

accommodates boutiques, flagship-shops and

gourmet eateries. The complex is a multiple,

supplementary collection of shopping entities that

conforms with the currently most popular mode of

consumerism with an advantage for the project

to serve as an international shopping centre and

to facilitate commercial leasing and operation.

Total floor area of the commercial complex, including

underground shopping arcades, amounts to 25,000m².

橫琴•蓮城印中國珠海

本項目位於珠海橫琴新區口岸服務區,距離橫琴口岸僅250

米。該項目為超高層城市綜合體,地上由199.9米高塔樓及裙

樓組成,塔樓設辦公、五星級酒店等功能,裙房設商業及酒

店配套等功能;地下四層,其中地下一層設置商業,其餘層設

置車庫、酒店後勤、機電設備等功能;二層設有天橋及地下設

置連接通道加強同周邊地塊的整體開發。立面以唯美的琴島

蓮花作為設計主題,裙樓以大面積幕牆及巨型LED屏來烘托出

濃烈的商業氛圍。

南傳統的建築形式(特別是鳳凰古鎮) 以謀求啟發市民對於

當地文化的自豪感, 進而塑造一個強有力的城市形象。這樣

一個令人印象深刻的城市綜合體一旦建成, 必將成為新的城

市名片, 為長沙新時代下城市個性的塑造做出貢獻。

SuperD Technology CentreShenzhen, China

Located in the high-tech park in Nanshan District,

Shenzhen, the SuperD Technology Centre is a

17-storey high building with a 14-storey tower above

a 3-storey podium. The terrace podium provides

pedestrian ramps and bicycle storage to help

encourage the usage of alternative transportation.

The 14 metres high lobby makes the users feel

enlightened when they enter the building. The liner

service core takes up the entire length of its northern

frontage, allowing greater flexibility of use within the

remaining space. With the use of vertical greenery,

energy-saving lighting system and grey water

treatment system, the building is up to LEED

accreditation standards in the application of

sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

The architectural style is modern and international,

executed in the spirit of the high-tech age. The middle

part of the façade is designed on a strict rectangular

grid with strong vertical emphasis. The curved structure

around the rooftop garden makes the building vibrant.

超多維科技大廈 中國深圳

本項目位於深圳市南山區高新科技園南區,業主方深圳超多

維有限公司為中國裸眼3D顯示技術的領軍企業,其董事長戈

張博士為中國裸眼3D技術的發明者,深圳超多維公司也是深

圳的大型高科技顯示器生產企業及電子產業研發中心。該建

築地上17層,首3層為裙樓,4~17層為塔樓,裙樓採用樓板層

層退台的設計,從入口到14米高無結構梁的寬敞中庭,讓人

產生豁然開朗的感覺,標準層平面採用核心筒及輔助用房沿

北側一字排開的形式,留出完整的南側空間,利於用戶靈活

分隔,最大限度滿足不同用戶對空間大小的需求。裙樓設運

動坡道,自行車存放,沐浴間,鼓勵使用替代交通。垂直綠化

分佈在整棟建築,機電採用節能燈具、節水潔具、雨水收集

等多種節能措施,擬獲得LEED金級認證。建築立面為現代風

格,採用Low-e中空鋼化玻璃、鋁合金斷橋框料等現代科技材

料,既展示出大廈科研辦公功能的挺拔大氣高科技風貌,又

考慮同周邊項目和環境的和諧呼應;底部用弧形構架作成的

玻璃雨棚突出建築主入口,中部由簡潔的線條劃分出韻律感

極強的玻璃幕牆。頂部則在空中花園外設計出優美的弧形構

架,為莊重的建築外觀平添幾分靈動的氣息。

Bingu PlazaShanghai, China

Bingu Office Tower is located in Weining Road,

Changning District, Shanghai. The project consists of

office, commercial and cultural exhibition hall. It’s a

10-floors Grade A office building, and main services in

the cultural and creative design enterprises.

The goal of the design is to create an ecological

environment for the users. It makes the building looks

like a “Green Music Box”. Each two layers of the

building as a moving box dislocation, which formed

rich green platforms and created the ecological green

environment. The volumes of the box “twist” to create

rich shadow, and form a more dynamic visual effect.

There are two kinds of patterns on the facade of the

blocks, which formed two languages. The pure virtual

windows created the clean glass curtain wall. The high

and low walls and windows scattered to create the

“rhythm” elements. The whole project design includes

the sunken courtyard, air terrace, and roof garden,

etc… which creates an attractive “Green Music Box”.

It creates an ecological environment of harmony

between man and nature. Such refined design makes it

an iconic focal point of Wei Ning Road.

繽谷廣場辦公樓中國上海

繽谷大廈位於上海市長寧區威寧路,項目包含辦公、商業及

文化展示功能。本案主體為一棟10層的A級寫字樓,主要服務

于文化創意及設計類企業,附樓為三層文化展覽館。本設計

主題為“綠色音樂魔盒”。是將建築主體以兩層為一個體塊

平移錯動,形成豐富綠化平臺,打造全生態綠色辦公環境。

在錯動基礎上將方盒進行“扭轉”,創造豐富的陰影關係,

形成更加動感的視覺效果。盒子體塊虛實相間,虛面用窗牆

體系打造玻璃幕牆的純淨、通透,實面用音符的韻律變化呼

應整個建築形態的靈動。設計通過下沉庭院、空中露臺、屋

頂花園全方位打造出一個從水準維度到垂直維度的“綠色

音樂魔盒”,營造人與自然和諧共處的生態環境。精製的設

計,使得本案成為威甯路街角的視覺焦點。

景觀設計重點打造了大樓主入口及北側文化廣場景觀部分。

主廣場半圓形的動行道延伸至雨棚下,中間形成景觀中心。

設置有噴泉、綠植、花卉,成為主入口亮麗的背景。文化廣

場則用成組的綠化小品,打破廣場空曠的距離感,讓人不自

覺地深入其中。主樓與文化樓之間的楓香庭院巧借小橋流水

的意境,為辦公樓打造一塊寧靜、私密的專屬領地。西側沿

環路兩邊佈置行道樹,形成鬱鬱蔥蔥的林蔭道,減少車輛對

旁邊居民的噪音干擾。沿基地周圍圍牆全部做成垂直綠化景

牆,形成天然綠色屏障。屋頂花園設置了豐富的景觀層次,

配以宜人的景觀小品,成為使用者休閒放鬆的好去處。

Le Prestige, Le Prime & La Splendeur has ten (49 to

59 storey) residential towers of total construction

area around 420,000m² providing 4,272 units, with

the majority of the units offering views of either the

podium garden or the central park. Average unit

size ranges from 72m² to 130m². Each tower is on

a four storey podium containing a kindergarten, a

super large clubhouse (including indoor swimming pool),

a children’s playground, function rooms and car park

facilities. This complex is one of the largest residential /

recreational projects in Hong Kong in recent years.

MTRC Airport Express Kowloon Station and Tunnels HKSAR(Sub-Consultant with TFP | FARRELLS)

The Kowloon station is the largest on the Airport

Express line, and is connected to the central area of

Hong Kong as well as the airport. The station consists of

commercial areas, transport interchange and is

equipped with ‘In-town-check-in’ services, where

passengers can check-in hemselves and their

baggage in advance.

九龍站為機場快綫面積最大的車站,連接香港的心臟地帶及

機場,站內設有商業、交通樞紐市區預辦登機服務,乘客可

于車站內預先辦理登機手續及托運行李。公司承擔了九龍站

市內辦理登機手續的候機樓和機場特快專綫、東涌綫的站

台,供公共汽車、私家車、出租車停靠的設施和地鐵站設施

The Third People’s Hospital of Shenzhen is located at

LongGang District, with a site area of about 100,000 sq.

meters. Total investment is RMB 800 Million. After

completion, the total nos. of bed spaces will be 2,300.

Being the first municipal public hospital in LongGang

District, it is also the sole modernized Hospital with

Infectious Diseases Treatment facilities in Shenzhen

offering full integrated Infectious Treatment, Scientific

Research, Teaching and Preventive Healthcare

services to Shenzhen and its surrounding districts.

This project is to achieve the long-term vision of

providing a first class International Research-based

Hospital with “Strong Specialist Services and Big

Integration” as provoked by the Hospital Management.

第三人民醫院改擴建工程(二期) 中國深圳(獲取第二名獎)

深圳市第三人民醫院地處龍崗區。占地面積約10萬平方米,

總投資8億元人民幣,全部建成後總床位將達2300張。本案實

現了院方提出的創建“強專科、大綜合”國際一流研究型醫

院的美好原景。新建總建築面積28.24萬平方米,其中計容面

積18.93萬平方米,地庫面積10.12萬平方米,總停車位2700

輛。新建部分由24層的多功能綜合樓、24層的綜合住院樓和

22層的傳染病住院樓組成。改造工程共7棟,建築面積3.12萬

平方米。

Deputy Managing Director Nicholas Ho worked with a number of leading

architectural firms in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, prior to joining

hpa in 2013. Over the past few years, Nicholas strengthened the creative

design of hpa, with extensive involvement in the company’s master

planning and schematic designs, as well as detailed architectural design

and interior design. He also injected fresh thinking and impetus into the

management and design philosophies and design principles of the

company. Nicholas committed himself to reforming hpa’s approach in

digital design and the continuous expansion into the overseas markets

including the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and the

Philippines. In 2015, he established the CRS (Corporate Social Responsibility)

term “hpa SOCIAL” to serve the society through a variety of outreach and

charitable initiatives. These allow hpa’s designers to gain a better

understanding of the community’s needs. Since its inception, “hpa SOCIAL”

has successfully completed a considerable number of charitable projects

in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Laos, involving more than 1,000

students from across 40 schools.

Nicholas has also continued the planning of SMART city initiatives since

2016 and has completed smart city planning projects and architectural

design of significant scale in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Southeast

Asia countries. Furthermore, Nicholas has worked closely with high-tech

companies and solution providers globally, with the aim of integrating the
