Greetings from ACVS INDIA & FACTS FOUNDATION.

Welcome back to the 2013 Edition of ACVS INDIA. Inspired by overwhelming response and support from cardiology colleagues across the country, as well as from neighboring Asia Pacific Countries, FACTS FOUNDATION, INDIA in partnership with the Cardio-vascular Research Foundation (CRF), USA bring you this year’s ACVS INDIA 2013 at HICC, Hyderabad from August 8th to 11th, 2013.

We are pleased that this year all Academic Institutes as well as many other high volume medical centers within our country have come forward to be a part of this academic feast. With this support, we are sure that ACVS INDIA 2013 will be India’s premier Inter-ventional experience.

Continuing the past trend, live cases will be transmitted from local, national and international sites. All academic institutes of excel-lence within India will be represented. The talented physicians at these sites will demonstrate basic and advanced techniques for coronary, peripheral and structural intervention.

As in previous years, Dr. Martin B. Leon along with other CRF & Columbia colleagues, will attend and participate actively in the meeting. In addition, this year there will be small group sessions to allow more direct interaction with internationally renowned faculty from both India as well as abroad.

The Fellows’ Course on 8th August, 2013 expands this year and will have both Echo & Angio CD rapid fire sessions, where trainees will have the ability to get advice from masters in their respective fields. The basic exam oriented training curriculum and case discussions, which were very popular last year among the fellows, will continue.

The Pre-Conference Workshops, which once again are aimed at giving an in-depth and a hands-on training experience for the se-lect group of interested pre-registered delegates will be conducted on 8th August, 2013. This year’s workshops will be on “Acute Stroke Interventions” & “Venous Interventions” and will be coordinated by none other than Dr. Horst Sievert from Germany who is a pioneer in the field of cardiovascular sciences and has been at the forefront of many innovations. The goal of these workshops is to teach the basics in a hands on manner so that you may return to your institutions with the knowledge needed to start your own program.

We are happy to present India’s first formal IVUS Training Course in IACII (Indian Academy of Cardiac Imaging & In-terventions) being conducted at FACTS house under the guidance of Dr. Gary S. Mintz. ACVS India for the first time will have BCVS sessions for interested physician colleagues to provide content on key relevant topics in cardiology for general physicians as well as Clinical Cardiologists. These sessions will be held in partnership with Association of Physicians of India.

The CV Nurse Technician Symposia with ACLS/BCLS training sessions will continue to provide further education to the cath lab and CCU staff.

We request all colleagues across the country to send us interesting Angio CD’s for the challenging cases sessions and any new research protocols for presentation in the innovative trial sessions.

We hope to see all of you at India’s Best Conference Venue - HICC (Hyderabad International Convention Centre) - to experience the conference proceedings on Asia Pacific’s Biggest Screen, from August 8th to 11th, 2013.

FACTS (Fraternity of Advanced Cardiovascular Techniques and Solutions) Foundation - is a non-profit organization formed by likeminded group of Cardiologists and some Cardiac Surgeons who irrespective of the area, country, continent they belong are committed to do newer research, innovation, education and training to all physicians and surgeons involved in caring of lives of suffering cardiac patients. It also aims to innovate new modalities of prevention or disease modification of cardiac disorders. This Foundation unlike any other existing Societies does not believe in having any regional or country restrictions for membership and encourages physicians and surgeons spread all over the world to become members, to exchange new ideas and work towards fast development of new modalities of therapy for patient care.

Ever since its inception in 2009, with idea born by its Founder Directors - Dr. A. Sreenivas Kumar & Dr. Susheel Kodali, FACTS Foundation has played a major role in realizing dramatic improvements in the accessibility of educative programmes happening all over world to physicians in Hyderabad. FACTS has brought EuroPCR, TCT Live to Hyderabad in 2010, conducted first ACVS HI 2010 Conference, ACVS INDIA 2011, 2012 & 2013 in Hyderabad. FACTS entered into partnership agreement with CRF/TCT in 2012 and brings to you India’s Premier Interventional experience ACVS INDIA 2013.

FACTS’s role in interventional cardiovascular medicine is unique: conducting research on therapies, pharmacology, and devices during the earliest stages of development, confirming safety and efficacy in human clinical trials, and educating the medical community regarding appropriate use of these new procedures and technologies. FACTS is trying to encourage all physicians to develop new modalities of therapy or to refine existing procedures so that they become more operator and patient friendly. FACTS under advice of CRF aims to accelerate the process of new device development by decreasing the cost of production, hastening up the process of evaluation so as to benefit the suffering patients all over the world.

FACTS carries out its mission by following three basic principles.

Research - Innovation - Education & TrainingIACII - Indian Academy of Cardiac Imaging & Interventions - IACII - FACTS in collaboration with CRF brings in another new milestone in the field of Cardiology for training all young upcoming cardiologists & fellows along with CV Nurse Technicians in the newer imaging & Interventional techniques. FACTS wishes to acknowledge the help of all the Industry outfits for making this possible.

The FACTS Clinical Research is first of its kind facility in a country launched with active co-operation and encouragement from Cardiovascular Research Foundatin (CRF), USA. This includes all research facilities like Angio & Echo Core Laboratories along with preclinical animal lab.

Facts requests all it’s members to take more active interest in all it’s activities and would like to acknowledge the unparalleled support of Dr. Martin B. Leon the founder of CRF & TCT.

Enjoy active learning experience at India’s Premier Interventional Experience - ACVS INDIA 2013

It’s easy to move forward when you leave nothing behindThe dream of a bioresorbable scaffold has now become a reality. Absorb defines a new paradigm – Vascular Reparative Therapy (VRT). The goal of VRT is to restore the vessel to a more natural state, capable of normal vascular function to enable long term benefits. Leaving nothing behind* promises a bright future for interventional cardiology. Together, we can lead the revolution in patient care.

Lead the 4th Revolution in Interventional Cardiology
