FESTIVAL OF EUROPEOn 5 May 2018, the European institutions open their doors to the public to celebrate Europe Day. Amongst them, the European Economic and Social Committee, which represents the various economic, social and civil components of organised civil society (employers, workers and various interests) and the European Committee of the Regions, the European Union’s assembly of regional and local representatives, welcome you to Belliard 99/101, Brussels.

EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COMMITTEE (EESC)

➔ To mark the European Year of Cultural Heritage, come and join us to discuss the role that culture should play in relation to democracy and peace, how to better promote and protect the EU’s cultural heritage and its potential in terms of jobs, sustainable development and cultural diplomacy!

➔ Test your knowledge of the EESC, the European Union, its working methods and its achievements, and maybe win a prize.

➔ Find out about the EESC’s work on European economic policy, sustainable development and cybersecurity and the ways in which it supports participatory democracy in Europe and throughout the world.

➔ Come and visit the information stands at the EESC and enjoy fun and educational activities! Quizzes, concerts, face-painting, colouring in, balloon artists, souvenir photos...there will be something for everyone, young and old!

EUROPEAN COMMITTEE OF THE REGIONS

➔ Visit the European Union’s assembly of regional and local representatives and learn about its role and activities (presentation of the Committee with short briefing sessions, and information stands of its five political groups).

➔ Experience Europe’s diversity with our “Proud of my region and its culture” festival, showcasing typical regional products from across Europe! Various specialities are there for you to discover: food and beverages, arts and crafts, and many other surprises. Our partners will ensure an exciting and distinctive journey throughout local Europe!

➔ Share your concerns, thoughts and ideas about the future of the European Union and make your voice heard: take our “Reflecting on Europe” survey. Look for the dedicated stand – the European Committee of the Regions is listening to you!

➔ Prepare to be wowed by our entertainers – there will be something for all age groups!

➔ And before you leave, don’t forget to have your picture taken as a souvenir of your visit to the European Committee of the Regions.

FÊTE DE L’EUROPELe 5 mai 2018, les institutions européennes ouvrent leurs portes au public pour fêter la Journée de l’Europe. COMITÉ ÉCONOMIQUE ET SOCIAL EUROPÉEN (CESE)

➔ À l’occasion de l’Année européenne du patrimoine culturel, venez discuter du rôle que devrait avoir la culture pour la démocratie et pour la paix,, des moyens de promouvoir et protéger davantage le patrimoine culturel de l’UE, ainsi que son potentiel en termes d’emplois, de développement durable et de diplomatie culturelle!

➔ Testez vos connaissances sur le CESE, l’Union européenne, son fonctionnement et ses réalisations, et gagnez des prix.

➔ Découvrez l’action du CESE en matière de politique économique européenne, de développement durable et de cyber- sécurité, ainsi que ses efforts pour soutenir la démocratie participative en Europe et dans le monde.

➔ Un programme didactique et ludique vous attend au CESE autour de stands d’information! Quizz, concerts, maquillage, coloriage, sculpture de ballons, photos souvenirs… Petits et grands seront ravis!

➔ Partagez vos interrogations, idées et propositions sur l’avenir de l’Union européenne et faites-vous entendre: rendez-vous au stand “Reflecting on Europe” pour participer à notre grande enquête en ligne – le Comité européen des régions est à votre écoute.

FEEST VAN EUROPAOp 5 mei 2018 openen de Europese instellingen hun deuren voor het publiek ter gelegenheid van de Dag van Europa. Twee van hen, het Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comité, dat de verschillende economische en sociale actoren van het maatschappelijk middenveld vertegenwoordigt (werkgevers, werknemers en diverse werkzaamheden), en het Europees Comité van de Regio’s, dat de regionale en lokale gekozen vertegenwoordigers uit alle lidstaten van de Europese Unie (EU) bijeenbrengt, ontvangen u in de Belliardstraat 99/101, Brussel.

EUROPEES ECONOMISCH EN SOCIAAL COMITÉ (EESC)

➔ Het is het Europees jaar van het cultureel erfgoed. Kom daarom van gedachten wisselen over de rol die cultuur zou moeten hebben voor de democratie en de vrede, over hoe het cultureel erfgoed van de EU beter beschermd kan worden en meer aandacht kan krijgen, en over wat dit erfgoed kan betekenen voor werkgelegenheid, duurzame ontwikkeling en culturele diplomatie!

➔ Test uw kennis over het EESC en de Europese Unie, over hoe zij functioneert en wat zij heeft bereikt, en win een prijs.

➔ Neem kennis van wat het EESC zoal doet op het gebied van Europees economisch beleid, duurzame ontwikkeling en cyberveiligheid, en ook van zijn pogingen om de participatiedemocratie in Europa en de rest van de wereld te ondersteunen.

➔ Naast de informatiestands heeft het EESC voor u een speels en educatief programma in petto! Quizzen, concerten, make-up, kleurentekeningen, ballonsculpturen, foto’s... jong en oud kunnen hun hart ophalen!

EUROPEES COMITÉ VAN DE REGIO’S

➔ Bezoek de EU-assemblee van regionale en lokale afgevaardigden en ontdek haar rol en activiteiten (presentatie van het Europees Comité van de Regio’s met korte infosessies en infostands van de 5 politieke fracties).

➔ Ervaar de Europese verscheidenheid op het “Fier op mijn regio en op mijn cultuur” festival, waar regionale producten uit Europa worden voorgesteld! Ontdek lokale culinaire specialiteiten, kunst, ambachten en andere troeven. Laat je verassen door de standen van onze deelnemende partnersteden en -regio’s!

➔ Stel uw vragen, deel je ideeën en voorstellen over de toekomst van de Europese Unie door deel te nemen aan onze “Reflecting on Europe” enquête en bezoek onze stand – omdat jouw mening telt voor het Europees Comité van de Regio’s!
