MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF FBASS Dear Students, This program handbook has been prepared for your general information and guidance as a student of Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) to familiarize you with the program structure and information related to the program throughout your study at the college. It is important that you read through and understand the contents of this book as a source of reference. Knowledge oriented student is vital in ensuring all students and staff of the college fulfil the mission and vision of the college to produce students who are proactive, progressive and professional. Hopefully this program handbook will enable you to understand and adapt yourself academically and socially as a college student. SECTION 1: PROGRAMME OVERVIEW 1.1 PROGRAMME BRIEF The Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) is a home-grown program specifically designed to deliver a suitable level of theoretical and practical understanding in business administration and management. Its first intake is in September 2019 and has achieved provisional accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) in March 2019 This program allows students the opportunity to choose the specialised major in one of the following areas:
1. Marketing 2. International Business 3. Entrepreneurship 4. Economics 5. Banking and Islamic Finance 6. Supply Chain Management 7. Management Information System
This programme consists of various courses risk management, service management, e-business, creativity and innovation, strategic management, organizational behaviour, business ethics, research methodology, entrepreneurship with digital application, microeconomics and macroeconomics, principles of marketing, international business and few other related courses as well as industrial training at the end of the final semester. Graduates can also further their study at Master level which useful for pursuing a managerial career that not only limited in public or private industry but also other areas, as well as allow them to follow their professional interest.

1.2 PROGRAMME INFORMATION
1. Programme Title : Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours)
2. Programme Code : AB202
3. Duration : 3 years (9 semesters)
4. Total Credit Hours : 120 credits
5. Medium of Instruction : English and Bahasa Melayu (for some MPU courses)
6. Entry requirement : i. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with minimum Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects and a pass in Mathematics and English in SPM or its equivalent;
OR ii. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)
with at least Grade Jayyid and a pass in Mathematics and English in SPM or its equivalent;
OR iii. Passed Matriculation / Foundation programme or
its equivalent from recognised institutions with minimum CGPA of 2.00 or its equivalent;
OR iv. Diploma in related field (MQF Level 4) with
minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
v. A pass in Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with minimum 2.00 CGPA and a pass in Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM) with Academic CGPA equal to or more than 2.00; Vocational CGPA equal to or more than 2.67 and completed all vocational modules; and a distinction in Bahasa Melayu SVM Code 1104;
AND For international students, a minimum score of 500 in
TOEFL score of 500 or Band 5.0 in IELTS or its equivalents
Note: The requirement for Mathematics and English
proficiency at the SPM level for the candidate (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) may be exempted if the qualification contains Mathematics and English subjects and achievement is equivalent / more than the requirement of passing the subjects at the SPM level.

7. Programme Description
The program is designed to equipped students with a sound theoretical and practical understanding of business administration. Students can choose to graduate in business-related major such as Marketing, International Business, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Banking and Islamic Finance, Supply Chain Management, and Management Information System, by completing six courses from the selected major or get a General Management major by choosing six courses from the various elective course including free electives. This programme is offered to graduates with a diploma in business studies, management and other related fields, as well as STPM, matriculation and certificates/foundation programmes accredited by MQA. The students are also required to undergo industrial training in the industry. This training is for a period minimum of 14 weeks. The objective of this training is to expose students to the real working environment in the industries. The programme is intended to produce graduates, who have acquired the business administration expertise and intellectual skills in areas including organisational behaviour, risk management, entrepreneurship, marketing, supply chain management, management information system, finance, international business and economics.

PEO2 are successful in a business career, possess leadership quality, able to work independently, and practice professional, ethical conduct
PEO3 engage in life-long learning and adapt to constantly evolving technology and entrepreneurial skill and career development.

9. Programme Outcomes
Upon the completion of the program, graduates should be able to:

The Academic Calendar for KUPTM has the following features:
1) KUPTM uses a 3 three semester system in which a short semester is sandwiched between two long semesters.
2) The first semester of the academic year normally begins in January.
3) For the long semester, a 7-1-7 split of instruction weeks and semester break followed by 1 week study leave and 2 weeks of final examination.
4) The second semester of the academic year normally begins in middle of the year which is a short semester with 7 instruction week followed by 1 week of revision week and 1 week of final examination.
5) The third semester of the academic year begins in September which is another long semester.
6) Class replacement will be done in cases where public holidays disrupt the accumulation of 14 instruction weeks within a long semester or 7 instruction weeks of the short semester.
7) The semester break may be adjusted whenever possible to coincide with major public holidays (such as Hari Raya and Chinese New Year Celebrations) to minimize class replacement.
8) The University reserves the right to make any changes to the academic calendar when necessary. Students are advised to be aware for announcements regarding changes at all times.
Note: Actual academic calendar will be available during induction.
2.2 ACADEMIC REGULATIONS
1) All KUPTM students are subjected to the academic rules and regulations as outlined in the KUPTM Academic Regulations for Foundation, Diploma, Degree and Professional Programmes Handbook, 2019 Edition. A copy of this handbook can be accessed in the KUPTM website at www.kuptm.edu.my.
2) All KUPTM students pursuing academic programmes in collaboration with professional, local or foreign partner institutions are also subjected to the rules and regulations of the partner institutions. A copy of this handbook can be accessed in the KUPTM website at www.kuptm.edu.my
2.3 IMPORTANT INFORMATION 2.3.1 PLAGIARISM: STATEMENT
Plagiarism is using other people’s ideas such as words, opinions, thoughts, products, information and findings/results, (both spoken or written) inclusive of assignments, project papers, thesis/dissertations, research, proposals, tests and examination papers and pass them off as your own without giving credit to them in the form of citation, acknowledgement and referencing.
The penalties for plagiarism include the following:
1) A fail grade of work 2) Suspension from academic session 3) Expulsion from the University 4) Withdrawal or revocation of Degree

2.3.2 REQUIREMENTS OF CLASS ATTENDANCE
Students must attend all lectures including other forms of learning activities such as workshops/ tutorials/ laboratory work/ studio work/ fieldwork/ practical work/ practicum/ industrial or clinical training as stipulated in the syllabus. Students with less than 80% attendance from the total contact hours for:
1) Courses with final examinations, are not allowed to sit for the final examination of that course.
2) Courses with no final examinations, the course work will not be evaluated. This is true for every course if the written approval for absence is not sought from the Faculty.
2.3.3 AWARD OF FOUNDATION, DIPLOMA AND DEGREE
A qualification award will be conferred on a student who fulfils the following requirements: 1) Acquired a CGPA of at least 2.00; 2) Passed all the courses required by the Programme of Study and obtained a
Graduate status (GRD); 3) Fulfilled all conditions and requirements of the University; 4) Endorsed by the Senate.
