The “An app for Cáritas” award ceremony will take place as part of BDigital Apps 2012. “An app for Cáritas” has been a Cáritas and Barcelona Digital initiative to pro-mote an app for the entity.

Apps come in many forms, as games, as e-commerce platforms, as educational tools and many other varieties. But the foundation for any app is to understand how consumers engage with apps and how they use the apps to connect with the com-panies that create them.

Join Jamie Turner, founder of 60SecondMarketer.com and co-author of Go Mo-bile, as he takes you on an interesting and engaging exploration of how humans connect with businesses via apps and what makes some apps succeed while others fail. Turner will explain how to monetize apps providing some clues and trends and successful strategies for creating business apps.

Jamie has been profiled in the world’s best-selling marketing textbook and is a regular guest on CNN on the topics of social media and mobile marketing. His newest book was a #1 best-selling mobile marketing book in the U.S. and is avai-lable in 5 languages.

FinAppsParty is the international reference marathon for developers. The objective is to de-velop mobile applications for financial services for 24 hours. It will be held on 26 and 27 October during BDigital Apps congress. It will be atten-ded by national and international developers.

The Awards Ceremony will granted the two best applications of the competition. First prize is 10,000 euros, and the second prize is 2,000 euros.

Workshop taught by teachers of the degree in Multimedia En-gineering and the Master’s degree in Creation of Serious Ga-mes at La Salle, which will encompass a comprehensive view of the process to develop a video game that can be exported

to practically any current video game platform. The workshop begins with a discussion of the fundamental concepts of game design to conceptualise a video game, including creating the 3D elements that make up the game and programming the

game’s logic and mechanics by using the Unity game engine.
