SCOPE OF OBJECTIVES The IBA alongside our Associate Members, organise national regular events and talks for members to meet up, learn and be part of the community. These events provide opportunities to network and make professional connections in member’s local areas, as well as to learn more about the industry. B. Partnering opportunities The IBA is seeking partners to deliver the Mash Up series by pitching guest speaker /topic suggestions that would be a benet to its members through educational and interactive discussions. The IBA seeks program partners that offer content that isn’t a direct sales pitch, but that encourages discourse about the current trends and topics facing the Australian brewing industry. BENEFITS TO MASH UP CO-PRESENTING PARTNER Naming rights of sponsored Mash Up. Co-presenting partner to nominate presenters and topics. IBA to work directly with partners to curate topics relevant for the series. Each talk to be co-branded and promoted through IBA’s and partners channels. National or state based members / customer base electronic newsletter. Event calendar listing on iba.org.au members and public portal. IBA’s social media channels: Twitter. Facebook event page with link to ticket purchase options. Instagram. iba.org.au promotion (MREC / leaderboard banner). All Mash Ups to be professionally recorded (audio only) by the IBA content producer. The audio reel will then be edited to the supplied audio visual slides and shared through the members only IBA YouTube channel. If a co-presenting partner wishes to publish the recorded content, this must be discussed with an IBA representative and signed off on a seperate agreement. The audio visual slides to be branded with the co-presenting partners company logo at the top and tail of the presentation. Opportunity for the co-presenting partner to open to a public / members only forum through iba.org.au to request questions prior to the Mash Up. Launching January 2020. Co-presenting partner to host the welcome address at each Mash Up. Co-presenting partner to have 10 complimentary tickets to share with VIP/special guests. Names and email addresses must be supplied to IBA prior to the event for catering requirements. Co-presenting partner to have access to ticket holders registration details. Co-presenting partner to include one customised question to be included in the ticketing registration page. Co-presenting partner to have onsite signage on display at the Mash Up host venue. Co-presenting partner to suggest a hosting venue. Hosting venue must be a member of the IBA. Co-presenting partner to include sales collateral in IBA Mash Ups free goodies bag distributed on arrival. EXPECTATIONS OF PARTNERSHIP The IBA charges a member and non-member ticket price to attend the Mash Up series. This is done for two reasons; Capture catering numbers. C. NEXT STEPS

Produce a synopsis of your proposed topic and guest speaker. Please include a biography, online information or anything that will assist the IBA in understanding your pitch.

Please include a bio on your company if not currently a member of the IBA.

Once you have submitted your idea it will be presented to the IBA board for approval.

The IBA Content Producer will liaise with you directly in regards to your presentation. All presentation slides will need to be approved prior to promotion of the event.

Once your event is approved, the IBA will coordinate the event with you.

IBA MASH UPS EVENT FORMULA 6:30pm: Welcome drinks on arrival 7:00pm: Catering supplied 7:10pm: Welcome speech / announcement 7:15pm - 8:00pm Guest Presenter 8:00pm - 8:15pm Q&A 8:15pm - 9:00pm Networking drinks

The partnership is a 1:1:1 investment from three parties. With the investment level outlined below;

• Co-Presenting Partner: Max $30 per head of catering. It is the Co-Presenting partners financial responsibility to cover transport, travel and hosting costs for their nominated guest speaker.

• IBA: Cover the bar tab at the event through IBA ticket sales. Cover the podcast recording, marketing, presentation production and curation. IBA to manage ticket sales and provide a report post event.

• Venue: Provide the AV for the Mash Up and offer discounted beverage prices for the IBA tab.

Dr. Shellhammer is the Nor’Wester Professor of Fermentation Science and is an internationally recognized expert in hops chemistry. His lab studies the contribution of hops to beer flavor, foam and physical & flavor stability. Current projects include investigating specific hop oil component contributions to hoppy aroma and flavor in beer. During the 2008-2009 academic year he conducted research and taught brewing science at the Technical University of Berlin as a Fulbright Scholar and Alexander von Humboldt Fellow. Since 2007 he has served on the Board of Examiners for the Institute of Brewing and Distilling in London, England. He a Fellow of Institute of Food Technologists and the Institute of Brewing and Distilling.

SA A Brewing Pilot Traineeship Update

Come along for an update on the TAFE SA brewing traineeship trial. Head of IBA people project group, Richard Adamson, will be joined by Michael Bassham, TAFE SA business development manager; who has been leading the pilot project. The pair will update on progress to the program and answer any questions. IBA chair Jamie Cook, will also be in attendance for a general IBA update.

Jon Seltin, Brick Lane head brewer and member of IBA Quality Project Group, is joined by Trevor Perryman from Malteurop Australia to discuss all things malt.  Trevor has a background in both brewing and malt operations going back over 20 years and is currently managing director of Malteurop Australia & New Zealand. Topics discussed will include: - What makes good malt, and how to read and use a malt certificate of analysis - The launch of the malt COA IBA quality factsheet - Overview of Malteurop's business and recent major plant expansion in Geelong - Pant breeding trends, accreditation, and adoption of new barley varieties by maltsters and brewers in Australia and abroad - Climate change, water security and what it means for malt and beer in Australia This is an opportunity to be part of a discussion between two of the most informed members of our industry on an often misunderstood topic.
