Cumulative 3.2 GPA for college courses Interested in a science major Applying for transfer during the Fall 2010 Willing to commute to the UC Berkeley campus and fully participate in all components of the ELP program Fellows To be highly competitive Have financial need (meet the need based requirements for Federal Financial Aid at UC Berkeley). Come from an underrepresented university or college group Be a first generation university/college student Receive a strong recommendation from a counselor, science, or mathematics faculty member -Research Symposium Program Schedule Apply to ELP Nov 09 Methods Course Summer Internship Teaching Science Course Apply for Transfer Jan-May 10June-Jul 10Aug-Dec 10 -Headlands Institute Your commitment? Attend the weekend retreat Attend a course in the spring and fall semester at UCB Work full time conducting research during the summer at UCB Answer a series of on- line surveys for the research component -Past and current fellows get together Your Compensation? The weekend retreat is paid for We pay you $340 per month to participate in the fall and spring course We pay you $2000 per month (for two months) during the summer We pay bart expenses to and from the nearest bart station from your home Application Deadline is Nov. 30 th Notifications Dec. 15 th Program Begins January 15 th with a weekend retreat Sang Lee
