PROFILE Prof. Amaranth. R. Das. M.A., M. Phil., Ph.D Email: [email protected] Prof. Amaranth. R. Das joined the Faculty of Sociology in 1985. He was promoted as Professor in 2004 and served as Head during 2004-22007, Chairman BOS during 2007-2010 and currently heading the Department. He has 20 research publications in National and International Journals. His areas of research have been Sociology of Education, Political sociology and Social Problems. He has guided 7 Ph. Ds and 9 M. Phils and currently 8 Ph. Ds and 4 M. Phils are working under his guidance. He has completed one Minor and Two Major Projects funded by University Grants Commission. He has more than 40 Seminar Papers and has delivered more than 10 Symposia lectures in National Seminars all over south India. He has recently completed a project for the A.P. Intelligence about Farmer’s Suicides in Anantapur District. He is Member Boards of Studies of Madurai- Kamaraj University, Periyaar University Salem and S.V University. He served as Coordinator Cultural affairs, Coordinator of UG Exams, Revaluation, Coordinator, Dean PG Exams & currently serving as Director Directorate of distance Education. He was awarded Meritorious Teachers award by the Government of A.P in the year 2013.
