Experience Venkatarao is the founding partner of Orbit Law Services. He is gold medalist and university first rank holder in
law and has an extensive experience of over 36 years both as an in-house counsel working for Industrial
Finance Corporation of India, Industrial Development Bank of India and Reliance Group and as a practicing
lawyer.
He is rated among the top corporate lawyers of India and is identified by Lex Witness as one among the
fifty individuals (alongside Mr. Fali S Nariman, Mr. Soli Sorabjeee, Mr. Ashok Desai, Mr. K K Venugopal,

Mr. Ishtiaq Ali

Experience Ishtiaq is the founding partner of Orbit Law Services. Ishtiaq has more than three decades of extensive
experience both as an in-house counsel working for Industrial Finance Corporation of India Limited (IFCI)
and as a project finance and transaction lawyer.
As an in-house counsel, he was involved in various projects – negotiating and preparing multi-party
documentation including joint venture agreements for Infrastructure projects including Oil & Gas, Power, Port
and Road projects. He was involved in appraisals of various infrastructure projects. He was on the Board of
various assisted companies of IFCI as its Nominee Director and Independent Director.
In 2002, he had started his private practice with India Law Services as partner and thereafter, continued his
practice with ALMT Legal and Clasis Law as project finance head before setting up Orbit Law Services.
While working with his ex-law firms, he represented Indian and foreign banks and institutions in financing
critical infrastructure projects
He has been appointed as an International Project Finance Expert as a part of Deloitte consortium team and
advised PPP Centre of Philippines (Central Government Body) for privatization of airports and hospital project
He is closely associated with the introduction and development of Sharia Compliant Transactions in India.
Widely known for his expertise in infrastructure and project finance area, he is a frequent guest speaker on

Experience Ashok is a partner of Orbit Law Services. He has more than 34 years’ of extensive experience as an in–
house counsel with expertise in documentation, investigation of title and asset reconstruction.
He was an integral part legal department of Maharashtra State Financial Corporation and Industrial
Development Bank of India over 26 years. In 2006 he moved to Reliance Asset Reconstruction Company
Limited and went on to become Group Legal Head of Reliance Capital Limited.
He specializes in Banking laws, Corporate laws, asset & corporate due diligence, securitisation and debt &
asset reconstruction.

Experience
Saad is a partner at the New Delhi office of Orbit Law Services and heads the litigation practice. He has more
than 14 years' experience of working both as in-house counsel for companies like Atlas Software Technologies
and Pepsi Co., as well as in private practice dealing with litigation and corporate advisory. He has significant
experience in general litigation and his area of expertise is alternate dispute resolution and arbitration.
He was a standing counsel for New Okhla Development Authority (NOIDA) and was also on the Union
Panel of the Supreme Court and worked for the Solicitor General and Attorney General of the Country. He
has extensively handled matters and appeared before diverse forums including the Supreme Court of India,
High Courts, City Civil Court, Regulatory Authorities, Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practice
Commission, Company Law Board, Criminal Law Courts, International Chamber of Commerce Arbitration and
Arbitration Tribunals.

Prior to joining Orbit Law Services, she was associated with Ispat Industries Ltd. (JSW Steels) as in-house

providing end to end solutions to all industrial relations issues, labour issues and employment related issues
including termination, removal and dismissal from employment. She has successfully conducted many
