PROJECT-5

Design and Execution of 1 MLD Waste Water Treatment plant for Vizag Cavern Project, M/s.Hindustan Construction Company Ltd, on Turnkey basis.

Raw Effluent piped from the blasting area is brought by gravity to the 3 nos sedimentation tank(primary settling tanks) where the sedimentation of the suspended solids is taken by gravity. Thesettled sludge from the settling tanks can be pumped directly in to the sludge holding vehicles fordisposal at the dumping yard (existing dumping yard of HCC) within the site premises of HCC. Thiseffluent is then subjected to coagulation by addition of alum and then is let into the IPS forsettlement of the coagulated SS by gravity. The treated water overflows and is re-used as feed waterfor washing, gardening & floor washings purposes. The underflow IPS is taken on to the Sludgedrying beds and after drying the cakes are disposed of.

Raw Effluent piped from scrubber is bought by gravity. This effluent is let into the Oil & Grease tankpassing through the Bar Screen Chamber. The effluent from the O&G is taken by gravity to aerationtank, where it is aerated using a diffused air mixing system. The effluent after aerobic degradation istaken into clarifier where the clear treated water is separated from the solids and the biomass isrecirculated to aeration tank for maintaining the MLSS in the aeration tank. Air required for aerationis supplied using Air Blower. The overflow from this tank is taken to filter feed sump from where it ispumped through the Dual Media filter for final treatment and the treated water is re-used as feedwater for scrubber, washing, gardening & floor washings purposes.
