Christine Hawley is currently Professor of Architectural Design at the Bartlett UCL. From 1993- 1999 she was Head of the Bartlett School of Architecture and from 1999-2009 the Dean of the Bartlett and Head of the Faculty of the Built Environment. She was previously a lecturer at the Architectural Association and Head of the School of Architecture at the University of East London. She has lectured, exhibited and been published extensively over the last 30 years throughout the U.S.A., Europe and the Far East.

Built work includes a multi-media, teaching and exhibition space for the Städel Academy in Frankfurt and exhibition pavilions at the Osaka and Nagoya Expo, social housing for the I.B.A. in Berlin and in particular the Kitagata re-development plan were government commissions to establish new social housing typologies for the future. Award winning projects include a museum for Roman remains in Carnuntum Austria in collaboration with Peter Cook and the Hakka Cultural Centre, Hayung City China. Christine Hawley has been an adviser on the U.K. government Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment and chaired committees examining the implications of future teaching methods and delivery in Europe, UK and Australia. She is currently on the Board of Governors for ECA and an advisor for the Arups Foundation.

Christine Hawley was awarded the CBE in 2008.

Yutaka Yano read Architecture at The Bartlett, University College of London; his passion for process and research-led work resulted in receiving the prestigious RIBA Bronze Medal. His commitment to improve the quality of built environment is demonstrated in over sixteen years of professional experience with expertise developed in key sectors across Europe, Asia, India and UAE. More recently, Yutaka has been teaching at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he has actively encouraged a wider audience to engage with architecture and promote Hong Kong design through practice and education through his work related to the planning framework in which he has organized exhibitions and related events..

Sarah Kwok Yan Lee obtained her Bachelor and Master degrees from The Bartlett, UCL and is a registered architect in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom and a Chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA). She serves as a Committee member of the HKIA and RIBA HK Chapter and teaches as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture, Chinese University of Hong Kong and lecturer at Hong Kong Design Institute where she aims to further the strengthen the link between industry and academia.

As a Founding Director of SKY YUTAKA, Sarah is committed to improving the built environment and its engagement with the public realm. Her experience, gained through over sixteen years of international practice in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, includes a diverse range of award winning international projects  founded on a strong collaborative approach to design and management processes.

Roger Wu is a UK-qualified architect with over 20 years of experience and has been heavily involved in heritage and community projects in Hong Kong since 2008. Roger is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Chinese University of Hong Kong, member of the Archive, Heritage & Conservation, Education Development & Accreditation Committees of the HKIA. As  Honorary Secretary of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Hong  Kong Chapter, Roger also leads the Communications Sub-committee, for which he has recently curated and organised several key events. These include the SHOP! 2014 installations in collaboration with Swire Properties, where Roger was instrumental throughout the whole process from the conception of the idea and development of the competition brief/call for entries, to the selection of winners, construction/setting up of the installations and the judging of the Best Installation prize. Other events include TALK! 2014 and EAT! 2015 , both in assoc ia t ion wi th UKTI ’s Great campaign. Roger has collaborated with SKY YUTAKA to produce the Tall Storeys exhibition at RIBA in London as well as the GREAT by Design exhibition at the Fringe Club in Hong Kong.

Paolo Zaide is an architect and academic working across the fields of architecture and curation. He is joint Design Studio Leader of Unit 6 at the Bartlett School of Architecture where he teaches with Christine Hawley, and held Lecturer positions on the Architecture Spaces and Objects Course at Central Saint Martins, and the Department of Architecture and Spatial Design, London Metropolitan University. Prior to his role as educator he worked as a curator for the Royal Institute of Br itish Architects where headed the international talks and events programme, and he has worked professionally for Denton Corker Marshall and Alsop Architects.
