presented numerous invited seminars at state, regional and national professional and
trade meetings and author a livestock nutrition column in one nationally circulated and
one state popular trade magazine.
I routinely serve as a paid consultant for private companies regarding waste

research for the Illinois Swine Industry. In 2009 I was inducted into the ISU Million
Dollar Club recognizing external grants and contributions.
Realizing that research and teaching are mutually supportive activities I have actively
involved undergraduate students in our research program. Several of these students
have been recognized for outstanding achievement in research. Among the
recognition, students I have personally supervised have received top awards for
presenting undergraduate competition papers at the Midwestern Section American
Society of Animal Science meetings, have been recognized as the CAST Outstanding
Undergraduate Student Researcher and as the CAST Outstanding Graduate Student.
