The Anglo-American BRUSH Electric Light Corporation was established in 1879 in Lambeth, London, to exploit the inventions of Charles Francis Brush (1849-1929). In 1888 the company re-located to Loughborough, UK and is to this day the headquarters of BRUSH. Over the years the site has produced everything from arc lamps and incandescent lights to dynamos, motors, switchgear, transformers, tramcars and even aircraft.
Today it is the Centre of Excellence for the design and manufacture of the DAX range of 2-pole turbogenerators, variable speed drive 2-pole motors plus power management and excitation systems.

GENERATORS2 POLE HYDROGEN & COMBINED-COOLEDThe largest BRUSH generators are manufactured in the 2-pole facility in the Czech Republic. Here, BRUSH design and manufacture both air cooled and hydrogen cooled generators as well as associated excitation systems. The facility became part of the BRUSH group in 2001, but the first turbogenerator was manufactured on site in 1924 and first hydro generator a year later. As part of the large Škoda group, it supplied many of the generators and associated equipment required in the Eastern European markets.
