Company Profile:

Royal PVC is private Limited company has commenced manufacturing of un plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pressure and non pressure pipe system for cold potable water and other industrial used conforming to BSS 3505/ASTM D 1785 – 94 ANSI(American national Standard Institute)/UL-651-ASTM-D-2665-04a ASTM-D-2466-05 and other international Standards.

he company was established in 1990 and commenced production in the same year.

latest and most modern machinery from Germany, Austria and Taiwan Almighty Allah we have established another PVC Plant in Peshawar Industrial Estate consisting of imported machinery with a production capacity of 6000 m. Chemical Resistance of Royal PVC Pipe

P VC Pipes are highly resistant to salt water acids and alkalis. It is not recommended for use with organic ester, ketenes, chlorinated solvents aromatic hydrocarbon and low molecular weight alcohols.

Effects of Temperatures

High Temperature Royal Pipes Should not be used for hot water system, because the material softens at higher temperature. Their use for pressure duties is therefore, precluded if operating temperature exceeds 60° C.

Low Temperature Royal PVC very rarely suffer burst due to frost owing to the elasticity and good insulating properties of PVC. However, Royal PVC Pipe can note be guaranteed against weathering if water is allowed to freeze and thaw in them repeatedly. Fro this reason it is feared that Royal Pipe becomes brittle in these should be protected against mechanical damage. Care should also be exercised when handling PVC Pipe at low temperature.

THERMAL EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION

Thermal expansion of Royal Pipes is higher than the metal and concrete pipes. With a temperature rise of 10° C, a free laid 100 meter long PVC Pipe would extend 80 mm. for buried pipes however, elongation will not occur as the frictional force between PVC Pipe and surrounding soil are greater than the internal forces caused by the temperature changes. For above ground installation when Royal Pipe is used in bridge structures, appropriate counter measures will do away with such difficulties. These include the use of proper supports and when necessary, that of expansion joint.

Marking Royal Pipes are marked by ink jet stamping at one meter length as shown below: PVC Royal Pressure Pipe as per standards (BSS, ASTM, DIN, etc.) by Royal PVC Pvt. Ltd. Peshawar. Transportation and Storage

The loading of Royal Pipes are to be done in such a manner that they are not damaged in transportation. Pipes should be supported along the length leaving the Socket/Z Joint open as shown in the Figure. During loading and unloading impact type Stresses should be avoided on the Pipes.

In storage it is important that no unacceptable damage or deformation is occurred. Protect Pipes from Sun light. Where sheds are not available then use tarpaulin.

Standard & Range of Royal Pressure PVC Pipe

Royal PVC Pipes are manufactured in the following standard and range.

STANDARDS: For Pressure Pipes: 1. BSS 3505- 1986 B, C, D & E Classes

2. ASTM-D 1785-1894 Sch- 40 Sch- 80and Sch-120 3. ASTM D 2241 (SDR Series) 4. PSI 3051, 1991 RANGE: Nominal Diameter: From ¾” to 18” Royal PVC Pressure and Non Pressure pipes are supplied in plain, and socket ends with or without provision or rubber rings.

APPLICATIONS 1. Royal PVC Pipe for water supply lines to provide safe drinking water to the area. 2. Royal PVC used as Strainer and casing for tube well boring. 3. Royal PVC Pipe is best for transportation of acid, chemical, chlorine &other liquid

chemical etc. 4. Royal PVC are registered to corrosion therefore, it is used in lower fraction rate in the

Advantages of Royal PVC Pressure Pipes

PVC pipe have a number of technical advantage over other systems:

1. IT IS NOT CORRODED VC Pipe do not corrode and are totally unaffected by Acids, Alkalis and electrolytic corrosion from any source. In this respect they out class any other

pipes material including stainless steel. Infect PVC is virtually unaffected by water.

2. IT IS LIGHT IN WEIGHT EASY AND QUICK TO INSTALL ipe made from PVC are only about 1/5 the weight of an equivalent cast iron pipe and from 1/3 to ¼ the weight for an equivalent cement pipe. Thus, the cost of

transportation and installation is cut down enormously.

3. IT HAS AN EXCELLENT HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTIC VC Pipe have extremely smooth bore due to which frictional losses are at minimum and flow rates are at the highest possible from any other pipe materials.

4. IT IS NON FLAMMABLE

PVC Pipe is self extinguishing and it does not support combustion.

5. IT IS FLEXIBLE AND RESISTANCE TO BREAKAGE The flexible nature of PVC Pipe means that unlike asbestos, cement or cast iron

pipes. They are not liable to beam failure and cam thus more readily accommodate the pipe is connected.

6. IT IS RESISTANCE TO BIOLOGICAL GROWTH Due to smoothness of inner surface of PVC Pipe, it prevents Algai, bacteria and

fungi formation inside the pipe.

7. LONG LIFE he established aging factor of the commonly used pipe is not applicable on PVC Pipe. A 100 years safe life estimated for PVC Pipe.

Pressure/ Temperature Relationship

The pressure/temperature relationship of PVC plays an important part in the behavior of the pipe at elevated temperatures. In case where PVC Pipes are operating above ground, the ambient temperature will very and although the temperature of the liquid is being conveyed may not exceed 20 C, some reduction in strength, and therefore, of the maximum working pressure at which the pipe may be used will take place. In such cases, the working pressure of the pipe should be re-rated in accordance with graph-1 & graph ll. If both the ambient temperature and the temperature of the liquid exceed 20°C, the reduction in working pressure is cumulative and the advice of the relevant person should be sought.

PVC pipe have a number of technical advantage over other systems:

1. IT IS NOT CORRODED PVC Pipe do not corrode and are totally unaffected by Acids, Alkalis and electrolytic corrosion from any source. In this respect they out class any other pipes material including stainless steel. Infect PVC is virtually unaffected by water.

2. IT IS LIGHT IN WEIGHT EASY AND QUICK TO INSTALL Pipe made from PVC are only about 1/5 the weight of an equivalent cast iron pipe and from 1/3 to ¼ the weight for an equivalent cement pipe. Thus, the cost of transportation and installation is cut down enormously.

3. IT HAS AN EXCELLENT HYDRAULIC CHARACTERISTIC

PVC Pipe have extremely smooth bore due to which frictional losses are at minimum and flow rates are at the highest possible from any other pipe materials.

ADVANTAGES OF ROYAL PVC FITTINGS

LIGHT WEIGHTS: PVC fittings are incredibly light weight. its specific weight 1.46,is 1/10th that of cast iron. This cuts down transportation costs and facilitates installation in difficult places. CHEMICAL RESISTANCE: PVC has exceptional resistance to attack from all concentrations of Alkalis and high concentrations of acids, except strong oxidizing agents at maximum concentration. Therefore, the material should not be considered for use with aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons, ketenes, esters and cyclic ethers which lead to softening the material. NON CONDUCTIVITY: PVC is anon conductor of electricity and is unaffected or galvanic corrosion, which means no wrappings, coating or cathodic protection is required. FIRE PROOF: PVC will not support combustion.

LOW COST, EASE OF INSTALLATION: Installation is quick and easy by solvent cement welding; solvent joints are entirely reliable, leak proof, simple and quick to carry out. DURABILITY: It is unaffected by fungus or bacterial and its termite and weather resistant.

Giving excellent flow properties which remain constant due to reduced build up of deposits and scales. Royal PVC fittings are suitable for irrigation. Pressure Fittings

A wide range of fabricated fitting is available with Royal PVC. They are designed to make connected economical, durable, leak proof, easy and quick. These fittings include couplers sockets, elbow, tees, caps, flanges, bends (45 and 90) and reducers available in various sizes for different classes of pipes, conforming to Pakistani British American and other International Standards.

Pressure Fittings The following joining systems are available.

1. Solvent Cement Joint. 2. “Z” Joint / or Rubber ring Joint

Solvent Cement Jointing Systems Procedure for solvent joint installation

1) Chamfer the pipe end at an angle of 15 or 20 to an extent of 0.5mm length.

2) Ensure that both spigot and socket are thoroughly clean.

3) Apply solvent cement thoroughly and evenly over spigot end and inside of socket.

4) Insert the pipe quickly into the socket.

5) Hole for a while say 3-5 minute.

6) Wipe all excessive solvent cement with a cloth.

7) Leave for 24 hours before pressure testing.

Important Note:

The items required for solvent cement jointing comprise of rage, Knife or half round coarse file, natural bristle, primer, application cane, Solvent Cement and tools tray.

They are easy to be used in hilly terrain areas due to their flexibility. Natural Gas Royal HDPE&MDPE pipes are suitable for the distribution of natural gas because they have good resistance against chemicals; corrosion and stress crack etc. the royal HDPE pipe are also good for the transport of other gases like Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Hydrogen etc. Sewage Disposal Royal HDPE pipe can easily be used for the discharge of dirty and polluted fluid form the domestic commercial and industrial buildings. Telecommunications Royal PE pipe is very suitable option as ducts for optic fiber in telecommunication. INSTALLATION DIAGRAM FOR PE PIPES

a. The Connection methods include: 1. dia≤63, adopt thermal-fusion socket connection or electric-fusion connection 2. dn≤75, adopt thermal-fusion butt joint or electric-fusion connection 3. Connected to metal pipes, adopt flange connection or transition fitting connection.

b. Thermal socket connection: When adopting this method, use thermal welding machine, here under the specific procedures:

1. Check the pipe surface to see whether it is damaged, clean all the burrs attached on the incision.

2. Measure the depth of the socket, mark on the pipe-surf race. To ensure the new layer of the nozzle, chamfer the nozzle, the angle should be 30° the length of surface groove not exceed 2.0mm.

3. Clean up the Socket 4. Insert the pipe and fitting in the heater, heat up the jointing part. 5. Pull out the pipe and fitting when it reaches scheduled warm-up time,

Insert the pipe in to the fitting socket evenly and swiftly. 6. Do not proceed with next operation until the pipe and fitting reaches scheduled cooling

time.

c. Thermal-fusion butt jointing When adopting this method, use thermal fusion butt welding machine, the specific procedures are as following:

1. Clamp down the pipe on the jig of the welding machine 2. Clean up the connection part and milling the connection side.

Adjust the joining parts; make the misplacement less than 10% of the wall thickness.

3. Put the heating panel. 4. Pull out the heating panel when finishing heating.

Joint the two heating parts swiftly, increase pressure to the fusion-joint pressure and keep the pressure until it cools down.

5. Thermal-fusion is completed.
