Mygen Health’s Male Fertility Formula contains a unique formulation of antioxidants, nutrients and B-group vitamins designed to optimise male reproductive function by improving sperm parameters, combating oxidative stress and assisting with healthy conception:

> Oxidative stress has been extensively researched and is well recognised as a leading cause of male infertility.1

> Lowered levels of antioxidants in men has been found to correlate with sub-fertility2 and recurrent miscarriage.3

> A 2011 Cochrane Review confirmed that antioxidant supplementation may improve sperm quality and the chances of a successful pregnancy.4

> Antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E and CoQ10 have all exhibited beneficial effects upon male fertility.5

> Supplementing with vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium and CoQ10 has been found to prevent and reverse damage to sperm, improving both sperm motility and quality.6

Use the table to see how Mygen Health’s Formula performs against other pre-natal supplements available on the market.

* Calcium folinate is a source of folinic acid, which quickly converts to the most active form of folate. Folinic acid, as an active form of folic acid aids in overcoming common inherited polymorphisms that may impair folic acid availability. **Folic acid is essential pre-conceptionaly, however, its absorption is dependent on the presence of adequate levels of all B vitamins.

The benefits of many of these ingredients are listed below:

> Zinc

> Zinc is vital for the production and maintenance of healthy testosterone levels and is essential for sperm production and maturation.

> Lowered levels of seminal zinc have been identified in men whose partners were unable to conceive.

> Higher levels of seminal zinc correlate with improved semen quality.8

> Vitamin C

> Several studies have confirmed that supplementation with vitamin C increases all sperm parameters.9

> Vitamin C may also play a role in preventing damage to sperm’s DNA.

> Vitamin D

> Higher vitamin D serum levels positively correlate with sperm motility and improved fertilisation of the egg cell.10

> Folinic acid

> Folic acid is just as necessary in sperm, as it is in the egg cell, to prevent chromosomal abnormalities.11

> Mygen Health’s Male Fertility Formula provides folic acid in its most available form as folinic acid (calcium folinate). This quickly converts to the most active form of folate.

> Selenium

> Selenium is necessary for the health and function of the male reproductive system.

> Selenium has been found to benefit sperm motility, quality and count,12 with selenium deficiency leading to impaired motility and increased abnormal sperm morphology.1

> Vitamin B12

> B12 has been shown to be necessary to produce healthy sperm and increase sperm count.13,14

> B12 supplementation can improve all sperm parameters.

> Vitamin E

> Vitamin E is an important antioxidant shown to improve both sperm count and motility.

> Studies have also confirmed the role of vitamin E in the fertilisation of the egg cell.15

> Coenzyme Q10

> The antioxidant CoQ10 is found in the mitochondria of the body’s cells where it plays an essential role in the production of cellular energy.

> CoQ10 helps to maintain vitality in the sperm cell and studies have confirmed its ability to improve sperm count and motility.16,17,18•

> CoQ10 can also help to protect the vulnerable sperm cell from free radical damage.
