The PG 600 USB Family

The PG 610 USB Potentiostat/Galvanostat

The PG 600 USB family is the successor to the PG 300 family of potentiostats/galvanostats. The computer-controlled potentiostats/galvanostats come with a fully integraged LIH 8+8 data acquisition interface and can be controlled by POTMASTER using either Windows or Mac OS. They can be operated in “Grounded Mode” or “Floating Mode”.

The robust PG 610 USB is suitable for most electrochemical experiments which require the control of one working electrode.

The PG 612 USB is a bipotentiostat that includes two of the amplifier boards used in the PG 610 USB. In this biopotentiostat, both working electrodes can be controlled independently from each other. Further, having two working electrodes available allows the user to investigate redox chemistry in a ring-disc configuration.

The PG 690 USB Potentiostat/Galvanostat

The robust PG 690 USB has a compliance voltage of ± 90 V which allows working in low-conductivity electrolytes. It is suitable for most electrochemical experiments which require the control of one working electrode.

The PG 618 USB is a bipotentiostat that features two different amplifier boards. The wide current range makes this potentiostat unique in the market. Similar to the PG 612, both working electrodes can be controlled independently and used for investigating redox chemistry in a ring-disc configuration. Amplifier 2 (low current range) is connected via a preamplifier (“S-Probe”) to the electrodes.

For many years, the EPC 10 USB has been the amplifier of choice for discovering Nano-Electrochemistry by virtue of its unique 3-electrode mode low-current sensing headstage. The computer-controlled amplifier comes with a fully integrated LIH 8+8 data acquisition interface and can be controlled by PATCHMASTER or PATCHMASTER NEXT software using either Windows or Mac OS.

The EPC 10 USB is suitable for most nanoscale electrochemical experiments. The electrodes are connected via a preamplifier (“S-Probe”). This low noise amplifier is ideal for low current applications working with microelectrodes or micropipettes.

The EPC 10 USB Double incorporates twice the channel capacity of the single amplifier. The electrodes are connected via a preamplifier (“S-Probe”). With its two low current channels it is perfect for dual working electrode environments such as employing two microelectrodes or microdroplet cell arrangements.

Electrochemical Probe Scanner - ElProScan

The HEKA ElProScan is a unique electrochemical scanning probe microscope system, which employs an ultramicroelectrode and/or a nano-/micro-pipette as a scanning probe to perform in situ high-resolution microscopic imaging of reactivity and topography of various types of samples and materials. The system is offered in different configurations, which can be further optimized according to specific application needs.

All versions of the ElProScan have an ESC Controller containing a real-time processor enabling advanced XYZ-positioning of the specimen. This system is equipped with closed loop regulation and linear optical encoders (2.5 nm resolution) for all axes of the DC servo motors. The Z-axis motor carries a Z-piezo translator with 1.5 nm resolution for fast and fine movements. The Z-axis assembly can be manually adjusted in the XY direction. Different stage inserts allow the investigation of a broad range of samples. The ElProScan is best operated in concert with HEKA potentiostats/galvanostats, amplifiers, and acquisition and analysis software. Electrochemical Probe Scanner - ElProScan

The Electrochemical Probe Scanner, ELP 2, can be mounted on an existing Olympus IX51/71/81 microscope. The motorized XY scan stage mounts directly on the microscope frame and might replace an existing XY stage. The Z-axis assembly mounts on a platform to the left of the microscope. A manual XY-translator unit allows the alignment of the Z-axis assembly with the optical axis of the microscope.

An Electrochemical Probe Scanner with integrated inverted microscope in a configuration suitable for epi-fluorescence microscopy and/or scanning photoelectrochemical microscopy. The inverted microscope contains a motorized focus drive (5.5 nm resolution), epi-fluorescence optics with critical illumination, aperture stop, coupling for a light guide, one filter cube holder, and a c-mount adapter for connecting a camera. Several objectives can be mounted in a 6-position nose piece. Microscope optics transmits wavelengths above 330 nm (objectives, filters, and camera are not included). A joystick facilitates manual positioning and focusing.

45° Oblique Imaging System

Description

XY nanopositioning system for adaptation to the scan table of ElProScan systems ELP 1 and ELP 3. This item includes the controller PSC 1.

Upgrade for the ElProScan with an Imaging Optic, which visualizes the sample at a 45° angle. The optic is mounted on the z-axis of the ELP 1 and keeps the electrode tip in focus while approaching the sample. For pre-positioning of the electrode tip on the sample. Can be used with flat electrochemical cells (e.g. Petri dishes). With 4x long working distance objective, CMOS camera, camera software.

For connection to the ElProScan controller (ESC). This enables currentless scanning over structured samples keeping the distance between the tip of a microelectrode and the surface of the sample constant. The Shear Force Extension includes one dither and one receiver piezo assembly, one AD converter extension for the real time computer system, connecting cables, and a test circuit.

One piezo assembly for use as dither or receiver of the Shear Force Unit. It comes assembled with cable and plugs.

The SKP (Scanning Kelvin Probe) technique is based on the scanning of a vibrating capacitor tip and measures the work function difference between a conducting specimen and the vibrating metal tip. HEKA’s SKP package offers complete compatibility with an ElProScan system based on an ESC 5 controller. The extension includes one SKP electrode, a test sample, and a set of software modules. Spatially resolved measurements run as a Matrix Scan with the execution of an SKP measuring protocol at each matrix point.

The SMA-Fiber Holder is mounted on a dovetail plate compatible with ElProScan systems. The back end of the glass rod can be brought in direct contact with the end of the SMA fiber. The kit includes a SMA threaded holder for securing a 1.0 mm diameter glass rod and a SMA to SMA Patch Fiber Cable (1 m length, 200 µm core, 0.22 NA).

A light guide with 5 mm OD (outer diameter) and 20 mm length fitting can be connected to a SMA type optical fiber. The kit includes:1x SMA-FC/PC fiber cable (1 m length, 200 µm core, 0.22 NA)1x SMA Adapter, 9.4 mm OD1x LLG Adapter, 12.5 mm OD, 9.5 mm ID (inner diameter)

A straight optical port (SMA type) couples a HEKA cannula to an optical fiber. A second SMA type port connects a silver wire at a 40 degree angle. A third 1.5 mm OD steel tube enables connection to a pressure control device at a 90 degree angle. The cannula and silver wire can be inserted into a pipette with 1.5 mm OD and 0.86 mm ID (inner diameter).

Converts the critical illumination port of an ELP 3 to Kohler configuration featuring a field stop for restriction of the illuminated area.

SmartLUX is an imaging extension for our PATCHMASTER, POTMASTER and CHARTMASTER software. Together with the software it controls the light source and the camera. Image acquisition is synchronized with the stimulation and data acquisition of the main program. The mean fluorescence values of the assigned ROIs are stored as additional data traces. Further, imaging and electrophysiological data are linked to each other.

DocuLUX is a camera system containing either a monochrome or color camera together with the software. Faraday Cages

In many applications, the signal-to-noise ratio can be improved only with the use of a Faraday cage. A Faraday cage shields by suppressing electromagnetic waves due to high surface conductance and high permeability. They are made of steel without the use of stainless steel or aluminum and painted blue. The electroactive core is completely sealed in glass allowing the electrodes to be used in strong acids and aggressive organic solvents. No glue or epoxy is used to seal it.
