The Aquamax KF Plus is a truly versatile Coulometric Karl Fischer
Titrator featuring a robust measuring vessel design and ‘press go’ key
pad.
The device is used to determine trace level water content in a liquid
sample. The Aquamax KF Plus is suitable for a wide range of
applications with sample dosing directly into the measuring cell

Aquamax KF Portable Coulometric

Measuring and controlling the amount of water in oils is of
considerable economic importance to the industrial community,
particularly to the crude oil and electric power industries.
Water content determination by Karl Fischer titrator is no longer
restricted to being used by a chemist in a laboratory – now the technique
is used by engineers, plant operators, tanker drivers,
distribution/maintenance engineers and other non-laboratory
personnel.
Karl Fischer titrator can now be performed in many different locations such as the tailgate of trucks, mobile
laboratories offshore installations, tankers, engineering workshop and dockside cabins.
The Aquamax KF Portable is a truly mobile version of the very successful Aquamax KF Coulometer wich includes
Low Drift Cell twin port glassware as standard. Also incorporates a carry handle and a protective sleeve for the
titration vessel and electrodes. The unique low drift cell glassware design is by far the easiest to use and also the
most robust. The electrode locking system allows the joints to seal completely, without the use of grease or PTFE
sleeves, and provides improved baseline stability. Hassle free assembly and disassembly. This glassware enables
users to transport the instrument with reagents already in the titration cell so that it can be used immediately on
arrival.

Aquamax KF Reagent Kit
Aquamax KF Reagent A is a general coulometric KF anolyte
for use with generator electrodes which incorporate a frit or
diaphgram to separate the anode and cathode chambers. Used
in conjunction with Reagent C this formulation is supplied in
a pack of 8x100mL bottles, 8x5mL cathode vials, all
conveniently located in a single carton.
To conform to ASTM, API, EI, ISO (plus others) methodology for water content determination of oil and petroleum
products, the anode reagent must be modified with xylene to improve sample solubility and miscibility. Aquamax
KF Reagent is pre-mixed with xylene, and other solubilizers to eliminate side reactions, so that the operator does not
have to store or mix chemicals.

With the KF Titrator you can determine the water content of liquids very easily.
The device is based on volumetric titration according to the Karl Fischer method.
The KF Titrator works fast and precise for a wide range of use.
The actual curve and the measurement drift during titration process appear in the
display and you can see the titration solvent consumption. Standard methods for
different application are programmed.
The titration is performed automatically until the endpoint indication of
measurement. At the end of the measurement, result are shown in ppm water of
several other units.

Alkalinity Titrator
The Alkalinity Titrator is suitable for determination of carbonate and bicarbonate
hardness of water samples. The alkalinity of natural waters is primary caused by
hydroxyl ions in free state and the salt of carbonate and bicarbonate along with
borates, silicates and phosphates.
The measurement uses volumetric titration method with sulphuric acid or
hydrochloric acid (0.01 – 0.1 mol/L)
The titration is performed automatically until the endpoint indication of
measurement. At the end of the measurement, results are shown in mg/L CaCO3 or
mmol/L ˚dH (degrees of German hardness) or several other units.
Applications : Alkalinity values are the basis for correct dosage of chemicals for treatment of water and wastewater.
The instrument is suitable for analysis of drinking water, surface water, seawater, technical waters, boiler water,
cooling water

TAN/TBN Titrator
The TAN/TBN Titrator is suitable for determination of Total Acid Number (TAN) or
Total Base Number (TBN) of oils and fats. The acid number expresses the quantity
of base required to neutralize all acidic constituents of the sample. It is a quality
feature for freshness of oils and fats. The base number indicates the quantity of acid
which can be neutralized by additives in mineral oils.
The device is conform to standards IEC 62021-1, ISO 3771, ASTM D 664, ASTM
D 2896, ASTM D 4739. The measurement uses a potentiometric titrator method in
an anhydrous medium. The titration with titrant starts, once the oil sample is does
into the reagent. The user has to enter the sample weight into the menu, the titration
speed is precisely adjusted to the reaction rate by control algorithms.
The titration is performed automatically until the endpoint indication is measurement. At the end measurement,
result are showing in mg KOH/g oil or several other units.
Application : transformer oils, natural and artificial fats, mineral oil products, lubricants, food fats (e.g.olive oil,
butter)

H2S MercaptanTitrator
The Sulfur Titrator is designed for the determination of sulfur compounds as
hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan sulfur in liquid hydrocarbons and oils.
The measurement uses a volumetric titration method with silver nitrate solution in
an anhydours medium.
This measurement generates silver sulfide (Ag2S) and silver mercaptides.
The analysis must be done in an insert gas atmosphere to void an oxidation of
sulfur compounds by air and thus false measurement result.
The device is conform to standards ISO 3012, ASTM D 3227, UOP 163, UOP
212.
The titration speed is precisely adjusted to the reaction rate with control
algorithms. Two end point get indicated – first for hydrogen sulfide and second for mercaptan sulfur.
At the and of the measurement, result are shown in mg/kg (ppm) hydrogen sulfide and/or mercaptan sulfur or
several other units.
Applications : fuels (gasoline, kerosines, aviation turbine fuels), volatile distillates, middle distillates, liquified
petroleum gas (LPG), hydrocarbon gases, liquid hydrocarbons, naphtha (petroleum), low boiling oils, light cycle
oils, heavy cycle oils

Bromine Titrator
The value of Bromine Number expresses the trace amount of unsaturated constituents
of hydrocarbons and oils. It is determined by measuring of consumed bromine for
cleavage of double or multiple bounds during the titration. The value are needed for
determination of parameters for further processing of petroleum products.
The device is conform of standard ASTM D 11159, ASTM D 2710 and ASTM D
5776. The titration is performed authomatically until the endpoint indication of
measurement. At the end of the measurement, results are shown in mg Br2/100 g
(Bromine Index) or g Br2/100 g (Bromine Number).
Aplications : petroleum distillates, gasoline (including leaded, unleaded, oxygenated fuels), kerosene, distillates in
the gas oil range, commercial propylene trimer and tetramer, butane dimer, mixed nonenes, octenes, heptanes,
olefinfree hydrocarbons or mixtures.

FORZA MODEL FT-D892-A-1 (H/C) FOAMING TENDENCY AIR BATH
Modular One Position System
Test Method:
The ASTM D892 test method covers the determination of the foaming characteristics of
lubricating oils at 24°C and 93.5°C. The test essentially consists of conditioning the
sample at the required temperature and when the sample has reached temperature, air is
blown into the sample at 94 ml/min for 5 minutes. The foam remaining after 10 minutes
from then is recorded. This is indicative of the foaming tendency of the oil. The test is
sequentially done first at 24°C then at 93.5°C and then again at 24°C.
For the ASTM D6082, the procedure is the same except that the test is run only at one
temperature 150°C and the airflow is 200 ml/min.
Advantage of Modular Test Position System : This modular one test position system
offered by Forza enables a client to buy the exact number of positions required. As
demand grows more single modular units may be bought. Further, the units can be set up
to run one temperature and not be heated up or cooled down frequently. This results in an
enormous time-saving. The units may be placed in different parts of the lab to optimize

ASTM D2274, D943, D2893 : Oxidation Stability
FORZA oxidation instruments come in three types of
baths: heated liquid baths, heated aluminum block baths,
and individually heated tube baths.
Each type of bath has its own advantages.
Heated liquid baths are low cost and considered as the traditional and universally
accepted bath type.
Heated aluminum block baths eliminate the need for expensive and hazardous bath
