Introduction

With the launch of the Caddy, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has already successfully set new standards in

the people carrier segments. The successful recipe involves implementing the typical strengths of Volkswagen

Commercial Vehicles in a way that is appropriate both for the market and customers. These strengths include

above all high-quality finish, great robustness and durability – combined with an outstanding utility value and

exemplary economy.

The Caddy builds further on this lead with the use of the latest technologies.

Amongst other features of the Caddy, a completely reworked engine range, efficient 6 and 7-speed dual clutch

gearboxes, and ESP are available as standard. The driving comfort is improved by an interior that has been

developed further in many details.

Hill Hold Assist The vehicle is prevented from rolling back by brake intervention, together with the gearbox control unit. When the foot is moved across the accelerator pedal, the vehicle continues to be braked.

Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP)

Detects critical handling situations, such as a risk of skidding, and takes effective action to keep the vehicle on course. This system includes Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Traction Control (ASR)

Electronic Differential Lock

Permits smooth, comfortable starts on road surfaces that do not offer uniform grip. If one wheel starts to spin, the EDL will brake the wheel as necessary, directing power to the wheel with greater traction. EDL reduces tire wear and is active up to a speed of about 40 km/h.

Intelligent 4MOTION

Distributes power to all four wheels as required and ensures optimum traction on almost every surface, even in adverse weather conditions. It provides high active safety, reliable traction in virtually all surfaces and optimum directional stability at all times.

2.0L TDI Turbo Direct Injected Diesel Engine

TDI are advanced diesel engines using direct fuel injection and a turbocharger. Making it economical and smooth with high levels of torque (pulling power @320Nm) and good energy efficiency.

DSG Transmission (Direct Shift Gearbox)

Comprises of two independent gearbox units, allows the engine to engage with each of the two gearboxes in turn via two drive shafts. The dual-clutch gearbox permits an automatic gear change with no interruption in power flow.
