he basic design principle of these bearings are of Deep Groove Ball TBearings but several features have been added to take care of high angular misalignment, special purpose double lip seals, etc. marked as the SP & SPL Series, these bearings are available in different sizes for crank shaft applications, propeller shaft, all wheels, etc. The load capacities are in accordance with ISO 76 & ISO 281:1997 (E).

hese rigid, non-separable radial bearings comprise of the Tinner race, outer race, balls and cage, where the inner and outer race have deep grooves within which the balls move. The groove radii are slightly greater than the ball radii. This geometry of the grooves makes for high radial and axial load bearing capacities, and also for combined loads and find extensive use in two wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, white goods, pumps and motors.

Taper Roller Bearings

These specially designed from Tata Bearings are built to take large axial forces and sustain large radial forces. The cone, cage and tapered rollers together form

the inner ring assembly, which is separable from the outer ring. The bearing is so designed that the extensions of raceway and roller, converge at a point on the axis of rotation. The tapered configuration facilitates the rolling motion of roller on raceway, and generates a 'seating force', pushing the roller against the large rib of the inner ring. This prevents the rollers from skewing off-apex, and keep them positively aligned and in contact with the inner ring rib. Tata Bearings TRBs are finding increasing use in light, medium & heavy commercial vehicles, tractors, passenger cars, water pumps, etc.

Hub Unit Bearings

he Hub Unit Bearings–from Tata Bearings are pre-adjusted, greased and sealed Tfor life. These bearings are far more lasting, compact, lighter, easier to install and cost-effective. The Bearings comprise one outer ring, two inner rings, balls, polyamide cage and heavy duty seals. The seals are specially designed by Tata Bearings to match wheel hub application and have springs loaded with special steel flinger capable of preventing ingress of heavy mud and slurry.

Double-Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings

his range of bearings is capable of taking 'combined loads', i.e., high radial Tand axial loads. The capability to take axial load increases with increase in contact angle. They are particularly suitable for application demanding rigid axial guidance e.g. for fan-support applications for commercial vehicles. Fitted with high temperature grease and seals with special inner ring grooves which prevent the entry of external contaminants, these bearings come with high geometrical accuracy and superior quality, resulting in longer life.

Clutch Release Bearings

lutch Release Bearings from Tata Bearings are designed for engagement and Cdisengagement of clutch in commercial vehicles and tractors. These bearings are fitted with special accessories to prevent external contamination. The bearings have a front cover made of special heat treated steel, for wear resistance during clutch engagement. Special assembly and controls are employed for cup caulking and closing with the front cover to prevent the relative rotation of front cover. r

pecially designed for propeller shaft applications in heavy commercial vehicles, Sthese bearings are fitted with two heavy-duty long spring loaded life oil seal on both sides which prevent the entry of external contamination like mud, water and moisture. The bearings have excellent capability in retaining grease. Bearings and oil seals are assembled in a phosphatised coated cup which makes them resistant to rust, corrosion and moisture and provide maximum mileage to vehicles. The specified load rating as shown in the table, are calculated as per ISO281:1997 (E).

Magneto Bearings

hese are separable bearings similar to single-row deep groove bearings. The Touter ring has only one shoulder, forming one side of the ring groove, the other side being open. This design enables the outer ring to be removed end-wise from the inner ring, with the cage holding the ball complement. As magneto bearings transmit axial force in only one direction, two bearings are required to be mounted against each other for axial location on a shaft.

Double Row Self-Aligning Ball Bearings

hese bearings are ideal for use where considerable amount of shaft deflection Tor angular misalignment are expected. The design comprising of two rows of ball sets with cages and a common spherical raceway in outer rings, makes these bearings capable of taking angular misalignment of shaft relative to housing.
