Round 14 C Grade Defeated Bruce Rock 5-1 Goal Scorers: Daniel Lockyer and Cruz Williams. B Grade Defeated Bruce Rock 5 – 0 Goal Scorers: Yvonne Bowey 2, Elana Franton 1, Hayley Browning 1, Helen Crane 1. Best players: Elana Franton, A Grade Lost to Bruce Rock 2-1 Goal Scorers – Tenille Harrington. Best Players: Jennie McIness and Tammy Wilkins With an introduction to the new turf in Bruce Rock, all grades enjoyed a great day of hockey. Starting with the C Graders, who had a convincing win with lots of forward pressure and attack throughout both halves. B Grade followed suit with a strong win against an undermanned Bruce Rock. Despite efforts to steal the show with some super fancy stick work, our A Grade side couldn’t quite get over the line, with a late goal off a short corner sealing the deal for the Bruce Rock team.
Round 15 KK Vipers vs LG Kuk C Grade Drew 2 – 2 Goal Scorers: Hamish Dearlove 1, Daniel Lockyer 1. B Grade Defeated LG KUK 4 – 0 Goal Scorers: Carly Bradford 1, Carlinea Savage 2, Elana Franton 1. Best Players: Hayley Browning
A Grade Defeated LG KUK 1 – 0 Goal Scorers: Tammy Wilkins. Best Players: Sam Stubna and Jane Ardagh With strong winds and rain forecast, our teams took to the field for yet another wet day of hockey. The C Graders started strong with a couple of goals from our leading boys, followed by a return in attack from the LG Kuk side, leaving the scores to 2 all at the full time whistle. As the weather maintained its force, so too did our B Grade side, with a convincing win. The forward pressure and experience in the centre got us over the line in the end. With a couple of key position players away, the A Grade side took to the field against the unbeaten Souths. A display of strong stick work and effective short passing, saw the A graders come away with a well-deserved win to finish off the home and away season. All three grades are now into the finals, with the Semi’s set to kick off bright and early this Saturday
morning the 19th of August. We welcome all past players, community members and families to come
along and support our teams as we once again embark on our finals campaign. GO VIPERS!!!
