Processed Food
Do you know what processed food
is? Processed food has chemicals
instead of real food with vitamins
and nutrients.
Do you know why chemicals
are bad for us?
Our body doesn’t recognise
chemicals in our food.So our
body can’t make any good use
out of processed food.
Do you know what real food is?
Real food is food that has natural
ingredients in it and no chemicals
in it . Real food has been the
least processed. e.g butter
If we ate processed food all
the time, we never would get
enough nutrients.
This is because there is not
enough nutrients in processed
food to feed our blood cells. If
you ate a lot of this food you
would become over weight
which would cause other
health problems.
Preservatives are made for
a good reason but sadly
preservatives are just as
bad as chemicals.
kSherry Elton an expert
on processed food
says 80% of the time
you should eat real
food and 20% of the
time you can eat a
little bit of processed
food.
If you want to keep away from
processed food, it is a good
idea to read on the back of
packets and see what sort of
ingredients it has in it. Or you
could grow your own vegies
and you could make your own
bread. Remember to try and
eat the least processed.
