Curriculum Vitae ir.ing. Gert J. Sloof
Mr. Sloof (1962) is involved as a senior consultant in the advisory group Process Integrity & Safety.
Supported by his background in Process Control, PHA, Management & Policies he acts as the
program manager for Process Safety Excellence. Prior to his appoint he held various positions in the
field of process control in the process industry sector and industrial services.
His focus is on the implementation of the EN-IEC61511 ‘Functional Safety: safety instrumented
systems for the process industry sector’. In 2007 he completed his study at the Delft University of
Technology - faculty of Technology, Policy & Management - with his thesis ‘FUNCTIONAL SAFETY:
A policy study on the design, implementation, and use of company-specific practices’.
Since 2001 he is tutor and member of the advisory committee for the course ‘safety and environment
in the process industry sector’ offered by Stichting Post Hoger Onderwijs Veiligheidskunde (PHOV),
Utrecht, Netherlands, [www.phov.nl]. As of 2003 he is member of the advisory council to the board of
Stichting PHOV. He participates since 2009 in the Dutch SIL platform. The objective of the platform
is to exchange information on the application of the Functional Safety standards at large. In 2010 he
received his ISA 84 trainers certificate. In 2011 he was appointed by Huntsman Polyurethane as an
experienced Process Hazard Study Leader. In 2015 he was appointed by Gasunie as an
experienced Process Hazard Study Leader.
