Proceedings of the 13th Field Robot Event 2015

General instructions

The paper for the FRE2015 proceedings must describe the details of the robot, its hardware and software. Follow the sections that are described bellow and use this document as a reference regarding the general font type and sizes. Keep the layout of the document as simple as possible and return the document in doc(x) format to [email protected] no later then 1st of September 2015.

• Title/Team. The title of the paper should be succinct and no to long. (use Times New Roman, size 16, cantered, bold and capitalize each significant word).• Author names and Institution/Affiliation. Capitalize the family name of each author, add the Institution/Affiliation addresses below the names and one contact email address. (use Times New Roman, size 14, cantered).

1 IntroductionStart with the objectives of the work and provide enough background, but avoiding an unnecessary detailed literature survey.

2 MechanicsDescribe the mechanic of the robot and include pictures or CAD drawings for better understanding. (from this point on use Times New Roman, size 12, justify for general text and use Times New Roman, size 14, bold, left alignment for sections).

3 HardwareGive an overall description of the hardware (electronics). Explain the onboard computer and sensors in more details in the subsequent subsections.

3.1 On board computer & controller

Explain the onboard computer(s) and controller(s).

3.2 Sensors

List the sensors that the robot is using and describe when and how they are used.

4 SoftwareThis section should describe the software (OS, meta OS, custom software, ..) the robot is using. In order to understand how the robot works, give an extra attention to this section and describe it in detail (navigation, detection,.. algorithms).
