Getting apples to color sooner, means you can get a head start on harvest. For the past 3 years ProAct
treated apples have had significantly improved color in both trials and commercial applications. ProAct
is a biochemical that initiates a systemic plant stress defense response, accelerating fruit color so you
can pick sooner. Best of all ProAct is well suited for Northwest apple production areas, where warm
evening temperature can delay the onset of coloring in apples. US ProAct trials conducted with Employ.
ProAct has the added feature of increasing fruit quality, storage quality and reducing post-harvest
rots. Harpin, the active ingredient in ProAct, has been proven to improve post-harvest quality on a
wide range of fruits and vegetables by activating and increasing the disease defense characteristics
of the fruit skin, increasing and maintaining fruit firmness, delaying loss of acidity and reducing post
-harvest respiration. The result is higher quality and better storing fruit.
ProAct for increased apple
color requires 2 treatments:
150g /Ha applied 30 days
before expected harvest
followed with 150g / Ha
applied 15 days later.
