With four outstanding rivers and fisheries within 15 miles of the Lodge, and countless streams, lakes and other rivers within an hour’s drive, these trips are an ideal way to enjoy the serenity and beauty of Yosemite’s pristine waterways.
Our Private Half Day fly fishing trips are great for beginners to see what fly fishing is all about, and equally perfect for experts trying to squeeze a little fly fishing into their Yosemite adventure.
Our licensed fly fishing guides know the local waters well and will show you what type of gear to use, what to look for when you’re reading the water, how to match local hatches, and the best way to present your fly to an awaiting trout. This trip imparts a skill set that would normally take years to master on your own.
TRIP TIME 7:30am-12:30pm or 3:30pm-8:30pm (approximately 4 hours on the water)
GROUP SIZE 1-4 participants. Reservations recommended. Contact Recreation Desk for availability and pricing for groups of 5 or more people.
PRICE $325 for 1 person; $175 per person for 2 people; $135 per person for 3 people; $125 per person for 4 people. Includes transportation, fly fishing guide, rod, reel, flies, footwear and waders.
DIFFICULTY/AGE LIMIT Expect to hike 1 to 4 miles and fly fish on rugged terrain. Suitable for ages 7 and older.
MEETING PLACE All trips meet in the Recreation Center 15 minutes before departure.
WHAT TO BRING• California Fishing License• Completed Trip Registration Forms • Park admission or Park pass if you already have one• Small backpack with minimum 32 oz. water and snacks • Comfortable footwear and extra socks • Neutral colored layers, including wind/rain jacket• Bug repellent, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses• Camera and binoculars
OTHER INFORMATION Our first-aid-certified guides carry first aid kits, permits, maps, radios/cell phones. Guide gratuity not included; for exemplary service a 10-20% tip is customary.

Our Private Full Day fly fishing trips allow every experience level to find just what they need in order to obtain the upper hand on fly fishing in the Yosemite area. Our knowledgeable guides take you away from all the crowds of Yosemite’s main tourist attractions, so you can fly fish in pristine locations around the park.
This trip is perfect for beginners to learn basic fly fishing skills or for intermediate or expert fly fishers to have a wealth of local fly fishing knowledge at their disposal. We hire some of the best local fly fishing guides in the Yosemite area who go above and beyond your expectations in order to make sure you’re able to enjoy all the beauty and wonder that Yosemite’s fly fishing waters have to offer.
