PRIVATE ECONOMIC ZONESPrivate Economic Zones are playing very important role to attract foreign investment and create employment. BEZA has already given pre-qualifica-tion licenses to 17 Private Economic Zone developers, out of which 05 have been awarded Final Permits.

A total of US$ 3029.41 million has already been invested and 14513 jobs have been created by the Private Economic Zone developers. Honda Manu-facturing Company has started the construction activities in Abdul Monem Economic Zone and Meigo, a Chinese company, has started their export from Bay Economic Zone. Meghna Economic Zone produces paper and tissues which are also exported to China, USA, Japan, India, Nepal and Bhutan.
