Principal’s Report Priority Schools Program Survey 2012 Parents and caregivers of students in Kindergarten, Years 1, 2 & 3 will receive a survey to complete and return during the week of 5-9 March 2012. There will be one survey per family. The survey asks parents/ caregivers for their highest level of schooling, highest qualification, their current work situation and if you have been in a paid full or part-time work and what sort of work you are doing most of the time. It is very important that those completing the survey understand that if they have work in survey week but do not have regular hours in other weeks, that they are not in part-time work. Many of our parents have high levels of qualifications from overseas which are not recognised in Australia. These parents should be sure to complete the survey carefully with what job they are currently working in. The completed survey will be sealed by parents into an envelope. The information provided will not be read by anyone in the school or local community. The tear-off slip on the envelope will be removed by the school when the envelope is returned. This slip helps us to identify families who have returned the form. The survey is used to distribute additional funding for schools, in the fairest way, and so this survey can help your children. Please be sure to return the survey by 9 th March 2012. Students should return their survey envelopes before 9.00am to the front office any day in survey week. Parents or carers requiring assistance to complete the survey should call at the front office with their survey and someone will be happy to help you. Principal’s Report

Priority Schools Program

Survey 2012

Parents and caregivers of

students in Kindergarten,

Years 1, 2 & 3 will receive a survey to complete and

return during the week of 5-9 March 2012. There will

be one survey per family.

The survey asks parents/ caregivers for their highest

level of schooling, highest qualification, their current

work situation and if you have been in a paid full or

part-time work and what sort of work you are doing

most of the time.

It is very important that those completing the survey

understand that if they have work in survey week but

do not have regular hours in other weeks, that they

are not in part-time work. Many of our parents have

high levels of qualifications from overseas which are

not recognised in Australia. These parents should be

sure to complete the survey carefully with what job

they are currently working in.

The completed survey will be sealed by parents into

an envelope. The information provided will not be

read by anyone in the school or local community.

The tear-off slip on the envelope will be removed by

the school when the envelope is returned. This slip

helps us to identify families who have returned the

form.

The survey is used to distribute additional funding for

schools, in the fairest way, and so this survey can

help your children.

Please be sure to return the survey by 9th

March 2012.

Students should return their survey envelopes before

9.00am to the front office any day in survey week.

Parents or carers requiring assistance to complete the

survey should call at the front office with their survey

and someone will be happy to help you.

Gardening Group

In 2011 we had a very dedicated gardening group who assisted with the gardens in the

school, weeding, planting, fertilizing etc. The gardens always looked beautiful and were

very much appreciated by staff and students.

After the many weeks of rain, there is some major work to be done especially in the

community garden. If you would like to be a part of the gardeners group please meet at the

community garden on Wednesday 22 February at 9.15 a.m. Jen Desland, the schools’

General Assistant is looking forward to parents and students from the IEC again this year.

Come and chat while making new friends.

Wear a hat and sunscreen, gardening gloves are optional. We have gardening tools but if

you prefer to use your own please bring them too.

If you are a keen gardener but Wednesdays do not suit, please let me know as we have

plenty of gardening to do and will happily accommodate you if you are able to assist.
