Printing on Pictorico OHP Transparency Film Edward Stapel These instructions are for Epson 4900 printers – Adjust as needed for different printers. Use the following settings for printing negatives or positives. For Platinum Palladium printing you will use different settings (see below). Load your Pictorico in the slot on top of the printer, clipped corner in the upper right, one sheet at a time (do not stack sheets in the slot). Follow the prompts on the printer screen. To Print: 1. Go to File > Print 2. In the Print dialog box, under “Color Handling” select “Photoshop Manages Color” from the menu. 3. Under “Printer Profile” select “Epson Stylus Pro 4900_4910 PremiumGlossyPhotoPaper” 4. For “Rendering Intent” select “Relative Colorimetric” 5. Next to “Print Settings” confirm vertical or horizontal 6. Click “Print Settings” and, under “Presets,” select “Pictorico.” This setting should not change, but if you want to confirm the settings, click Printer Settings they should be: a. Paper size 8.5x11 b. Manual Feed c. Premium Photo Paper Glossy d. Print Mode: AccuPhoto HDR off e. Color Mode: Off f. Output Resolution: Superphoto 1440 dpi g. Super Microweave off h. High Speed off 7. Click save to close the window. 8. Click Print For Platinum Palladium negatives: 1. Go to File > Print 2. from  the  menu.  3. For  “Rendering  Intent”  select  “Relative  Colorimetric”  4. Next  to  “Print  Settings”  confirm  vertical  or  horizontal

5. Click  “Print  Settings”  and,  under  “Presets,”  select  “Pt  Pd  Pictorico.”  This  setting  should  not  change,  but  if  you  want  to  confirm  the  settings,  click  Printer  Settings  they  should  be:  

a. Paper  size  8.5x11  b. Manual  Feed  c. Premium  Photo  Paper  Glossy  d. Print  Mode:  Advanced  B&W  Photo  e. Color  Toning:  Fine  Adjustment  f. Output  Resolution:  Superphoto  1440  dpi  g. Super  Microweave  off  h. High  Speed  off  i. If  you  click  the  “Advanced  Color  Settings”  tab  (next  to  “Basic”)  you  will  

see  a  total  shift  on  the  vertical  axis  to  yield  a  yellow-­‐brown  image  tone  –  this  is  designed  to  imitate  the  image  stain  from  a  pyro-­‐developed  negative  and  helps  with  tonal  separation  in  pt/pd  prints.  

6. Click  save  to  close  the  window.  7. Click  Print
